What if, for instance, PHP or Tomcat craps out and gets stuck in a spinlock over night? Would the VPS still get deleted?

These VPS auto reboot if they get stuck.

How would a VPS be aware of what its processes are doing exactly? Will I need to configure a watchdog? Mind you, I had this happen previously with Tomcat, which did progress into a multiple-hour CPU hog.

I'd imagine most people's time is worth far more than the $50 you can make off of Bing rewards in a month.

For the record, wable.com has VPS for 75 cents a month & it can be moved at will between Dallas, New York, & Seattle.

you should buy the account so that if one cpu uses 100% then it won't hurt the other vps.

but I don't think they can be compared anywhere with Google Compute Cloud Tongue
besides if you buy the account then you can create loads of VPS and use the $500 credit for 3 months.

So I would need a more expensive account just so I have a safeguard from you deleting my VPS due to lockups and accidental infinite loops that might end up in code?

account is worth $25 and with that you can make more vps of any category regardless of high cpu or high ram besides I am not sure what kind of cpu usage you need for your scripts.

do you want a trial run for your scripts?

I think I'm fine for now; I have no exact script to host at the moment.

1. https://developers.google.com/compute/docs/machine-types
I won't recommend these vps for hosting websites as the longest you would be able to host is only 3 months after that you'll have to migrate on a new vps.

2. not sure about the location yet, I'll find out today.

3. you can say these are semi-managed.
