I really find the approach of not going into exchanges for a first periode of time quite nice. What was the advantage for those coins, that went pumped and dumped before they could have been emerging with  some adoption or features. I am not shure how this will play out, but it is better than no new approach to that problem. I am looking forward to find out.
@DEV: If you are really having a plan, keep going ;-)

dead or not, I am currendly having great fun mining it by just using the wallet. It makes about 15 Texas per hour. And taking accout, that I have always 6 or more peer connections, wich is unusual for such a low networkhashrate, i would assume, that I am not the only one. Because this is a great opportunity for beginners to experience some kind of "retro-bitcoin-feeling" i will now give a short description on how to do it and ask the "pro's" to restrict themself not to instamine this one (for now it has zero value anyway). I am sure our market would highly benefit, having more newbie-opportunitis like that.

here it goes (I tryed to take in account all things that could go wrong for a newbie and hope its bulletproof):

1) install the walletsoftware
2) start it and then close it again
3) go to the datadirectory (on Windows something like /user/yourname/APPdata .../texascoin )
4) create a textfile in that directory named texascoin.conf
5) put following into the textflile:

Code:
rpcuser=CHOOSEaNAME
rpcpassword=CHOOSEaPASSWORD
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1,*
rpcport=21034
port=11034
gen=0
server=1
listen=true
genproclimit=-1
addnode 128.199.165.180:11034
addnode 188.226.248.45:11034

6) open the wallet again an wait untill it (important) finished syncing (see on the right bottom corner)
7) close the wallet and open the textfile again
Cool change gen=0 to gen=1
9) open the wallet again and encrypt it via the settings menu (the wallet will have to restart) choosing YOUR-ENCRYPTION-PASSWORD
10) go to "help" and open the debugwindow, then choose the "Konsole" tab
11) now enter "walletpassphrase YOUR-ENCRYPTION-PASSWORD 999999" and press enter
10) now enter "setgenerate true -1"
11) after a minute control your success by typing getmininginfo
12) if you type "help" you get a bunch of funny commands to play around with

have fun  Grin
if you have questions, ask here, I am monitoring the thread
(@DEV guess who's job I am doing here)

everybody else (blogger, writer, boardmembers ... ): spread this article outside the Crypto Community, so that new users can try this

 Hey Texas friends, hello from New England region.

If some old members of Texas coin want to revive this old regional coin, I am offering you an exchange listing at
ShorelineCrypto exchange at very low price, 0.01 BTC or  well below 0.005 BTC equivalent if the payment is paid on NewEnglandcoin (NENG) exclusively. Checkout
our other regional coin listing:
NewEnglandcoin (NENG) :  https://shorelinecrypto.com/market/DOGE-NENG
Quebecoin (QBC): https://shorelinecrypto.com/market/DOGE-QBC

I am aware that there was some dispute on old dev large pre-mine. I am not too worried about that. The old dev is likely long gone and sold out. The
trading price is going to be very low initially and can be low and gradually going higher as trading price and market will re-distribute coins across different supporters.

As long as some old members still have old coins and blockchain to sync wallet, this coin can be reborn.
