I just got 4 emails from blockchain about wallet backups.  One of the identifiers I recognize, the rest I don't (then again they could be old / unused ones)...  Anybody else get these?

Never actually used Blockchain.info for storage myself so I can't say.

I would advise the exact opposite and not use Dropbox with your wallets ever, your private keys should never live on a computer that uses the internet unless its encrypted. If you are going to use Dropbox at-least enable 2 factor authentication that helps against key-logging, but even then it someone gets onto your machine they can just grab the wallet. The wallet even though its on Dropbox, is also available on any device when its synced, try unplugging the internet and opening some of your synced files they work just fine. Anyone who gets onto your machine can take your wallet if its on Dropbox, not so secure, but free and easy to use.

I think I got one initially but I haven't gotten any from them in a while. I must have turned off getting one for any transaction with my wallet?  Hey as long as you don't have to take any action and they're not looking for contact from you then it's not phishing.

Nope, none here though I have accessed my account today
Could be a phishing attempt by a 3rd party. Tread warily.

I trust dropbox about as much as i trust a homeless person at the bus stop...  I use full disk encryption for my hot wallets (you'd need my laptop, a password for that, an sd card and a password for that as well).  Cold store is always air gapped.

I think I do get them every now and then, usually after some transactions, they're reminders to back up your wallet, but to be on the safer side, just don't click on the links they carry inside, if you want to back up your blockchain wallet, use the wallet identifier you have saved when you opened the wallet and then use that to sign-in and do backups. Also, it is advised to enable 2fa and only use blockchain or any other online wallets for very small amounts of btc.

I am having several wallets with blockchain.info, and I am yet to receive such emails to any of my wallet-linked mail IDs. I strongly suspect that this might be a phishing attempt. (A lot of phishing has been going on recently with blockchain.info).

It's probably not a phishing attempt if the links go back to the genuine site. Are the emails just about wallet backups and not sending you a two factor code?

Very likely a phishing attack.  I've received at least half a dozen in the past month and a half or so.

They don't.  Look alike site requesting password verification if you can believe that!

While the links might be legit, the "advice" given:

-snip-
Top Tip
Backup your bitcoin wallet using dropbox. It's free, easy to use and secure.
-snip-

is crap. While it is known* that dropbox is not the best service to use, recently [1] it became very clear that you should not use dropbox for critical data. Its free, its easy to use it is not secure. If you must use dropbox for whatever reason make sure the files are encrypted.

You must do. I get an email everytime I send or receive bitcoins. I also get a text which is great when you're out and about. Never had any phishing mails though. I guess just be careful where you leave your email address.

Go to the Security tab in Account settings (5th from the top, just below password). In the Two factor authorization box, change it to email confirmation. Always use a gmail account for confirmation, as it prevents most of the phishing / hacking attempts.

I wouldn't use email. If your email is compromised or you have a keylogger you're screwed.

I think there's are chance the mail are phising

if you well you wallet are not safe, just use 2FA
