ya your definition of cheat may be different than others.. a vague question.

and what ones ? there is many that have been caught red handed on a regular basis simply stealing.
many simply take your deposit and the coins never show up and they vanish sooner or later.

what would be REALLY interesting to me is to get guys like Bitjohn to give his opinion on how scammy all the well known ones are LOL
like what does he think of the top 5 altcoin exchanges ?

to me it boils down to choosing my words carefully for starters..
and i would ask, do you think any of the top 5 exploit their position and manipulate the market at all ?

for example..

it would super easy for an exchange to silently pause a market on everyone for say 2 days
then take those coins and do what ever they want with them.
then make up some dumb ass excuse for the public 4 days later..

THAT

happens a LOT !!!!!!!!

and guess who does it ?

Weird Spoetnik with a conspiracy... Anyhow why we used to suspend markets was due to our automated fraud system. It would detect anomalies in the chain deposits etc and would freeze that market. Then when we would feel comfortable that the anomalies (usually a reversed transaction) were no longer occurring or a threat we would reopen the market. Sometimes it coincided with us rebuilding an entire wallet which in the case of say Huntercoin or Bitcoin could mean a 24 hour+ redownload of the chain. Other coins fall into the very large chain category others do not.

Would I say we could have communicated this better at times absolutely. This system has been altered now and we catch this stuff using other methods.

Ahh ok well that may explain some behavior in the past that could easily be perceived as suspicious.

I appreciate you saying that and it's excellent info (or a convenient easy to use excuse LOL)
i will of course assume your being fully honest in that response and just want to add one more thing..

A great idea for Cryptsy and other in a similar situation would be to have an FAQ page of sorts so you can mention stuff like that.
and i understand some bits of info like that maybe private for your own security reasons but telling the public *some info
would go a LONG way in instilling confidence in your exchange.. a fair trade off in my opinion.

i have always believed it's irrefutable, if you tell people NOTHING then they will always assume the worst !
So when you habitually provide no info / data and fishy circumstances keep popping up your rep is going to continue to decay
and you will be on forums like this doing damage control.. after the fact.
when providing more info up front earlier would have been far less work and less of a headache !

I have seen lots on Cryptsy chat before newer guys ask all kinds of questions and of all the support url's i have
none of their questions ever seem to be answered (on those pages).. so i am saying what is already out there is not too helpful in my opinion.
and that would be the Cryptsy Wiki and Support Site and the underused Cryptsy Blog site.. not using the blog is an opportunity wasted !
lastly some exchanges utilize a warning message directly on the top of the market page ..this is great !!!!!
Cryptsy does not do this..

and BJ.. there is conspiracies man lol
i just mentioned how there was one before with Coinmarketcap and the coin AUR.
I have proof of lots of them too..
Such as when all of you Cryptsy guys including Mullick and Prime etc were playing dumb with me about who made TIX last year
and i got a pm from an anonymous user that demonstrated how Mullick was caught uploading the compiled TIX binaries.
So uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
explain to me how at the time he was letting Spots and his Troll buddies play anonymous troll and harass me non stop while
all you mods knew exactly who was involved and in reality all of you mods had played a part in making the coin lol

what really pissed me off is you guys let this guy pick fights with me and troll on me big time while you sat in silence
only to look for a way to ban me(and not your buddy cloner iGotSpots).. when all i did was ask who made the coin and all of you guys sat there quietly Knowing fully who did.
BitJohn back then you even told me on chat you knew who made it and you would not say.. and there was many of us who asked..
and i said don't you think we have a right to know ?
And i know much MUCH MUUUUUUUCH more than that too by the way.. another mod Prime had an exclusive to post it on his site before this site
and when i mentioned that on Cryptsy chat Spots ran over here and created a topic on TIX after the fact..
Then he denied saying it was him doing it.. then he admitted to using the account here and about a month or two ago he came clean and admitted all of it !
saying "yeah" and that eh just didn't want to admit it back then.
Proving every SINGLE thing i ever said about it going back to last year was 1000% true !
and.. proving how corrupt you Cryptsy guys are in the process.. him admitting that was damning for you guys lol

So conspiracy ?
ohh you bet your sweet ass BitJohn LOL

and i have proof 1000 fold on all the cryptsy mods being implicated balls deep in it all and lying and fighting about it all along !
And hmm you think i am dumb ?
You think when i have a mountain of proof Cryptsy staff got together and made a coin TIX for example with cloner iGotSpots
that the mysterious unknown Troll who would keep coming out to attack me on Cryptsy chat was ? hmm who was that Huh hmmmmm Huh?
Of course it was you mods or Spots etc.. duh !
no none else would be motivated to go that much trouble.
Circumstantial evidence combined with tangible proof laid out in time = undeniable proof !

and that is just,               one                 coin and one single incident.. of many.

i will say again, i am stunned you wanna have a jab at me when i have a dump truck of proof at my disposal.
and the proof is 90% YOU GUYS admitting to things ..you get caught up lying and playing games and it starts to get hard to deny after a while lol
and your retort is to habitually play this little game trying to make me out to be a conspiracy theorist nut..
but.. uhhh ohhh
that won't work..
guys like 2many280's for example has sat on that Cryptsy chat *quietly and this forum watching ALL of it go down for years.. there is no lying to them,
because they were there LOL

anyway, i am all for letting it go but sometimes you guy need to be reminded you were caught red handed pulling stunts..
and if you keep doing it then the public deserves to know... and proof is proof and i have lots
so spare me the never ending conspiracy comment jabs.. not one guy in Crypto would think i am a conspiracy nut !
and i guarantee ever man women and child in crypto would believe what i say in a heart beat over any cryptsy mod LOL
so the veiled jabs at my credibility does not have the desired effect i can assure you.
People may not like me but they know i strive to be honest with my internet persona and i have 1.. no other accounts and no games or lies.
and if anyone has any questions ever about anything i have always answered truthfully and i always will.
And.. if i got some info wrong i will try and make it right.. i am not looking for conspiracies they have been jammed down my throat !
the TIX crap for example was such a bad scam jammed down ALL our throats it was impossible to ignore LOL
I also bet you guys learned a lot from TIX for all your other coins you have made since huh BJ ? hahhaa

To be honest, I'm personally disgusted by bittrex accepting coins to be sponsored. This makes me think that even volumes could be manipulated to drive traders to a certain direction.

This is a concern I've had as well. I couldn't really tell why bittrex was having such big volumes while being founded this year. It has a life span of almost half a year and older, more established and stable exchanges still get a lower volume than bittrex. This just doesn't seem realistic to me, the difference between the volumes is also huge. It would be hard to prove that the volumes are not real though.

These markets are completely unregulated so everyone is stealing.

The real question is why the Official Cryptsy Logo is a penguin packing heat?

This. Between fake volumes, dubious security flaws, and the aforementioned sponsored coins, it's almost impossible to know which way is up.

Most of these alt coin exchanges don't have adequate support. Users are own their own should they encounter any issues.

It's amazing how the most honest exchange gets targeted.

Let me give you reasons why.

1. Mintpal volume has gone down by 80%
2. All coins that are only successful on Mintpal will have future volume and price pressure.
3. Bittrex also adds great coins. Do you guys see Guldencoin on Cryptsy or Mintpal?

Great coins? Really? It feels like Bittrex lists coins just if the developers asks the to. They edrose pumps ad dumps heavily.

Guldencoin is simply the best. Just no one knows it yet. Also I don't think Guldencoin is on Mintpal or Cryptsy because no one has asked for it with the team or community. I know there was a push for mintpal votes until it got hacked and then we stopped voting.

They even asked coinwarz to remove the coin off the voting list. Just shows how much concern they have for it.

I just think Bittrex have the infrastructure to add as many coins as they like where the rest of the exchanges have to remove coins before adding new ones just to maintain decent performance.

I also got burned by scam coins in the past and only had myself to blame, one of them being a coin that got added to mintpal without a vote. Cryptsy still has coins like paycoin where the dev stopped working on it back in January.

bittrex is taking the risk that cryptorush took, though bittrex toned it down slightly. bittrex is adding coins first and that means theyre on the bleeding edge of the hype and the start of pumps that go on though additional exchange listings until the inevitable dump when the hype bubble bursts.  everyone seems comfortable operating this way at the moment, and it doesnt appear to be making anyone super rich or super poor. same money in and out. (thats my opinion, people may be doing great or terrible)
*edit, bittrex is adding more frequently new coins than other exchanges

$MAID & $BTC other than that some short hodls and some long held garbage.

Everyone just playing the game, I am asian and we like to gamble, it's in our nature but I have also taken a step back and taken a look at coins with a longterm view point, it's also healthy to support coins that are trying to make a difference.

by the way i watched as coin after coin was added simultaneously to www.ipominer.com
and sometimes it was just painfully obvious there was a connection between that Scypt clone auto coin changing port multi-pool
they both added them in tandem and these short lived pump and dump coins would die in value so bad and so fast
i couldn't mine enough to do the minimum coin sell amount or min withdraw amount from the pool !
that is REALLLLLY bad !

there was so many coins that i wondered how in the hell did they even know to get them listed so fast ?
i would bet my left testicle they ran both sites and made the coins too !
why ? because they could and it was easy and it as worth a LOT of money !
make a new coin and dump it hard then make a new one.. on and on and on..

i have watched all the bigger ones pull stunts that can NOT be white washed with excuses..
BTER for example as pulled some shit.
The bigger the are the more shit they seem to pull i think.

if it stinks ?
there is prob a a reason.. $$$$$$$$$$$$

Great coins? Really? It feels like Bittrex lists coins just if the developers asks the to. They edrose pumps ad dumps heavily.

Bittrex has a link on it's site that loads a forum topic here.. that is their professionalism (a bitcointalk forum post lol)
i just checked and it's not on right now but it is a lot !

here is an example of a contradiction in your statement taken from their pro support topic lol

and there is more i just found using google on this forum alone !

We'll follow a pattern of announcing and removing markets twice a week.  We'll announce the next set of candidates for deletion on Monday for removal on Friday.

After a market is deleted, you will have 14 days to remove your funds before we shut down the wallet (provided the blockchain permits it.)

but what is worse, exchanges keeping on coins that are dead already or coins being removed if they are determined to have no future?

If Cryptsy wants to be the best they need to start scanning ANNs to see what coins are still valid and which ones aren't. Having coins like paycoin (one of many dead on cryptsy) just keeps the scam going longer for newcomers.
