Forum treasurer who passed away

I recall reading a thread about a forum treasurer who suddenly passed away.

What ever happened to the funds he was holding? Did the family ever contact theymos?

If I recall the Bitcoin address containing them was known. Have they been moved?

I'm wondering did the treasurer have some kind of system in place that would allow family to get access to the funds. I think this is something lots of Bitcoiners forget about even though it is seriously important.

I have been putting some thought into this and I'm convinced there must be an easy trust-free way to ensure loved ones will get your BTC if you unexpectedly die using nLockTime and I'm thinking about diving into it deeper and hopefully make a tool to make it easy to do. If anyone has some information on this topic please let me know.

Maybe his family, they even not need his password if it is save in the browser.

I haven't found his family's contact info yet, though I have some leads. (It doesn't help that I don't speak Spanish...) If anyone has any info, let me know. His account has been logged into a few times since his death, but I don't know who this is.

I don't see how contacting his family would work much , as I don't believe that they would know how to recover his wallet.
I'd assume it would be extremely well protected.....

Wouldn't it be beneficial to employ an "X of Y" system by which the the funds of each treasurer would be recoverable by the trustees ?

It sounds like a good idea to me.
According to this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=155000.0, the forum fund is currently held by 5 persons (incl. paraipan) and theymos.
What about putting the forum fund in several 2-of-3 addresses (3 parties being Treasurer 1, Treasurer 2 and theymos).

Since theymos is holding 5k BTC what diff. does it make by you "theymos" holding an extra few coins vs the chance of being ripped off with others holding the coins?

theymos got balls that clank if you ask me. I would trust no one on this forum any longer.
