the old link on bitcointalk was a guest thread - this official one will allow us to communicate updates more clearly on Bitcointalk - some users on the old thread did not find our updates because of that.

the block chain just stopped .>> umm anyone here know what s going on?

My wallet is up to date. It is possible that you were looking at a time when no mining was going on.

I mine a lot of Marscoins myself..   want to be the first mars millionaire!  lol (dont we all?)

Given they hope to use it as a research credit/mars rover renting/internal colony currency I am hoping the value goes up a lot as the missions start to launch.

I actually contributed to the earlier marscoin giveaway trivia night on poloniex.  I might have another one in a while; depending on my free time, since the marscoin faucets are pretty rubbish.

I too want to set up a shopping site like @coreinternals  how is his project coming along? Anyone?

I also chat to one of the marscoin founders, he and several of them are MarsOne candidates, which is why he launched it.

@Buy - unless you use the official marscoin explorer or one of the crypto mining pools ones i would treat any 3rd party explorer for ANY coin with suspicion, even the faucet/explorer one posted earlier I dont recommend using simply as it looks very suspicous. (gambling referrals)

Here is two safe explorers I have found.
    http://explore.marscoin.org/address/MMarsonebnQkxsNQxewhadjjFWix4DXTau    (MarsOne's address!)
    https://prohashing.com/explorer/Marscoin/

I also have my own reference pool for marscoin mining here where I work, although I recommend most people use the official one, mine is in Australia, and has limited bandwidth.

@bradfrogger2 The blockchain did get slow a while back - apparently there was an issue with a cron dying on the default wallet peers. Bug was related to mPos mining software,  It was fixed shortly after. (i noticed it myself and let the marscoin admins know)

I suggest adding extra peers as backups prohashing has one ( 98.115.147.74:8338 i think), and poloniex (not sure exact port, i see it pop up on my wallet occaisionally)

Edit: here is my full connected (addnode= these in conf) peer list as of this post:
ec2-54-214-255-50.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com:8338
107.170.70.121:8338

prohashing-1.prohashing.com:8338  (98.115.147.74:8338)
89-178-192-25.broadband.corbina.ru:8338
adsl-89-217-2-100.adslplus.ch:8338
182.88.37.81:8338
54.214.255.50:8338
130.39.190.22:8338
174.58.20.231:8338

These are also connecting in (but not sure if their wallets are exposed for syncing off their wallets (use port 8338 or leave port blank):
c-50-149-31-242.hsd1.pa.comcast.net  ESTABLISHED
host81-132-131-2.range81-132.btcentralplus.com  ESTABLISHED

162.255.117.105  ESTABLISHED
188.134.72.213   ESTABLISHED
vpn.flightcentre.co.za  ESTABLISHED

My pool shouldn't be too far behind either given its 24/7 but the hostname of that will change shortly so no point posting it yet.

(PS is fanbitcoin.com this same website as bitcointalk.org or a site illegally mirroring this one to sniff passwords?)

Thanks you very much. The node list worked for me for now but the synchronization is pretty slow. it needs its time.

I am currently having problems to synchronize my wallet. Is there a good list of nodes available?

Hi MARSCoin Members,  i had a few questions about specs.

1.  Confirm received?
2.  Confirm rewards?
3.  Max coin cap?

Come join us at the https://prohashing.com scrypt mining pool.  We are a coin-switching pool that offers mining and payouts in Marscoin as well as over 150 other coins.  We are responsible for about 85% of the Marscoin network's blocks, and we trade at all exchanges on which  Marscoin is offered.  Our unique coin balancing algorithm ensure that we don't overload any coin with too much hashrate so that we don't send the difficulty skyrocketing.

We also have a MRS block explorer at https://prohashing.com/explorer/Marscoin.  Come check us out!

some of the pools for MRS appear to be down, so I added it to superninjapool.tk

Ports:
        3415: varDiff 256-4096
        3416: varDiff 2048-8192
        3417: fixed diff of 2048

Enjoy!
