It's worth watching this for its comedic value, rather than educational uses  Grin

Most of the facts in the video are not wrong: they are just emphasizing China's regulatory stance.

Seeing a 2014 video with CPU mining was a little weird though.

its not really bad propaganda, i seen worse. its just highlighting that people should be very cautious,. no where did it say people will be arrested for using bitcoins or saying anything bad about businesses would be shut down.. just a "caution" message.

much like chocolate sometimes says may contain nuts or a movie that says may contain violence and scenes of a sexual nature. its not saying dont use. instead just be very careful.

I don't see much wrong with the video. It was fairly accurate and not very negative. It basically warns that bitcoins can be stolen and stolen bitcoins are impossible to recover, and it talks about money laundering. I think the biggest issue is that it mentions mining for no good reason.

Bitcoin fan boys won't like it because it doesn't have many positive statements promoting Bitcoin. It did put the value of a bitcoin at $2500!

maybe the video is a pre-release that wont reach TV screens for 3 months, so they raised the price in the script ready for the up coming rally lol

Surprisingly without much propaganda, there is more propaganda in the communist U.S. than communist China.

Watch it a second time with the sound off and some K-Pop in the background.

I don't speak chinese, but she said something like "cinq cin man-ga" not "dollars". They say "online" and "Bitcoin" in English.

I suspect they are valuing the Bitcoins at 5000 CNY or 400 USD each. The '$' would be an error in the caption.

Watched it, laughed at it, gave the finger to it, moved on.

This was incredibly stupid.

Bitcoin has no fixed price but fiat currencies neither.
They don't seem to understand that bitcoin is scarce because the rewards of mining enter circulation and exist in a timely fashion.
When they talk about real money it becomes clear they don't understand that solving equations with processing power has nothing to do with creating material value. It actually just makes the network more secure and tamper-proof, allowing for the consensus achievement of what were the past transactions. The value of bitcoins is only due to its scarcity and utility, as they enter circulation and exist in a timely fashion.

{ Imagine a sequence of bits generated from the first decimal place of the square roots of whole integers that are irrational numbers. If the decimal falls between 0 and 5, it's considered bit 0, and if it falls between 5 and 10, it's considered bit 1. This sequence from a simple integer count of contiguous irrationals and their logical decimal expansion of the first decimal place is called the 'main irrational stream.' Our goal is to design a physical and optical computing system system that can detect when this stream starts matching a specific pattern of a given size of bits. bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=166760.0 } Satoshi did use a friend class in C++ and put a comment on the code saying: "This is why people hate C++".

By the ip address associated with the transaction, I guess.

Looks like they have the same problem as us of needing to go into way too much detail when explaining it to average people.
Video seems sound enough though, apart from that fella holding the gun up near his face in the opening credits.

Yeah, for us people who know how mining works these days and that CPU mining is bogus now, it is strange, but the general public does't know jack about Bitcoin in general, so it wouldn't even matter to them if they showed CPU mining, GPU mining, FPGA mining (everyone seems to be forgetting about that), or ASIC mining.

They explained what Bitcoin is even better than many news sites. Do all TV teaching programs there always use "dramas" to explain everything?
