ms collec will forever be the creator and developer of Sync coin
however he is now working behind the scenes and is part of the
sync foundation just as we all are as sync holders.
I have resumed the OP and PR responsablities together with
Lt Cagt who is away at the moment i believe.

I'm sure that he reads the new thread as well as posts
on it just as he did yesterday.

In my opinion it was not really necessary for him to stop
being community PR as i could care less about voot
and their fudders but this decision was taken and we
will have to stand with it.

As for Mac users and noobs with sync wallet problems
we will try and help you if we can however since mac
users are in the minority here it would seem it would
probably be better to go through the old thread for
suggestions to your problems.

The link to the old thread is Right at the bottom of
the new OP. Being a windows user myself i would not
know how to begin to help mac users.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I know nothing about macs, but cant you just search for a folder? After the 1st time you open the wallet, SOMEWHERE a folder is created named "Sync". Inside that folder is where your wallet is and where the conf file goes. So my suggestion for mac users is open the wallet then close it, then search your computer for a folder named "Sync", or even search for location of file "Sync/wallet.dat".

What happened to the old sync thread? Also, my wallet isn't syncing Sad.
The old sync thread with 488 pages is linked in the first post.
The wallet may not be able to find the location of the directory you created.
I am running the wallet on Windows, but the way to go is after downloading the Qt zip file and unpacking the wallet,
to simply run it (it will likely not be able to sync) and close it once it shows its main screen.
Then find where the Qt has created the directory with the wallet.dat file.
For Windows, this is the directory for the Users data: users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\sync
in that same directory, add the sync.conf file with the contents that is shown in the first posting as configuration.
Then my Qt wallet started syncing immediately upon restart.
Success!

Something else, and this doesn't just apply to Mac users. If you are having a problem with the defaults, for whatever reason, you can start the qt file with the switch -datadir <foldername>. put your wallet and .conf file in that folder, and it will load and sync there.

I don't know how to do shell scripts or batch files in OS/X, but in Windows/DOS you'd just make a file called something like sync.bat that has exactly one line in it:
sync-qt -datadir=<foldername> and it will launch from that folder every time.

Yep. Not a fan of people not coming over here. It was probably better to just keep the old one alive and have MScollec update the OP. Oh well

Yes plus value of rewards like Sync Club - whose membership is valued at $500/year.
