I'm considering selling a % of my holding in Silver Shot.  I like this shit because I can sell a wide range of weights for people from the tiniest BTC transaction to a large horder.

I just wanted to see the communities feel on what you guys thought would be fair.

5% over spot is appropriate if you're selling to a buyer who is just buying silver. That's what the local coin shops will charge.

I'd look for some one who's going to find extreme collector or novelty value in the fact that it's silver shot. That person may be willing to pay more of a premium. Is silver shot rare? Do they make it everywhere? If not you may be in luck and I'd look to gun collectors, gun shows or shops for buyers - maybe not the owners but the collectors that hang out in those places.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

I'd gladly pay 5% over spot for 999 silver - here in Thailand we have VAT at 7% to pay on top of the price and there is a big spread, back in the UK VAT is 20% on silver - just a pity shipping would negate any benefits.

Better get it the next time you're in SG or HK then :-)

What time of silver shots are you holding?

I would not go much above 5% or 1 USD per troy ounce.  While I agree the shot is good because you can trade it in any amount, silver is not that valuable to begin with and is readily available already in very small increments, e.g. pre 1965 US dimes.  Now if you had gold shot that would be a different story...

The shot is also not readily verified as being silver compared to things like mint issued coins and smelter issued bars.

Good Luck!

I got 1000 oz of .999 coming in in like... 2 weeks or so and 2000 Walking Liberty Half dollars (1916-1947.)

Coinbase cut me the fuck off for whatever reason and everyone else I know, so I'm having to get creative on how to earn BTC again. Tongue

I'll look into Gold shot next.

Reputable generic rounds can be bought for $0.70 over spot (per oz), so I personally wouldn't pay more than that for shots. We can't verify dimensions and authenticity as easily as rounds.

Yeah that's the problem with shot.  Is the shot all loose or is some still in the original bag from the producer?

OP said 1k oz coming in, so these are bought in bulk. He also said they're sold in wide range of weights for very small or large btc purchases. I'm pretty sure this implies that he's dividing them up himself and weighing them, so no original bag.

Well I consider shots as nothing more that refined raw silver, so the right price should be very close to spot price (imo). Perhaps adding 1-3% to spot in commission.

It makes sense to me that the rate depends on how much you are buying. For example, if a person wants 2 grams of silver, I would want a higher price over spot than a person who wants 10oz.
