Both have interesting things to look at from a nerd viewpoint but let's be honest there for a second, are they really necessary when we have Bitcoin? Not really. This is why I didn't invest.

Ethereum is an open ponzi scheme ran by wealthy investors and there's the Goldmansach's connection.

My vote is for Ethereum... it really feels like it could become the Oil of cryptos (being bitcoin the Gold). Stellar looks like it could have its function as btc/fiat exchange layer with 100% legal compliance. After all, Stripe is a payments juggernaut.

Disclaimer: I'm happy owner of both, ether and stellars..  Grin

I am on the edge of my seat. The winner of this titanic competition will surely dominate the financial world for generations to come.  Undecided

How about none?

Both won't bring much utility to the common people. Sure there are some usecases for it, but those are very limited and even vitalik is avoiding this topic all the time saying: "so many things can be built with it." but what? "We will see.."

Well, people buy into that crap, let them...

You should give a look here:
http://codius.org

This will be compatible with Bitcoin, Ripple, Stellar, Litecoin ... every kind of blockchain/ledger.
It's made to build oracles and smart contracts.

And there are others:
https://github.com/orisi/orisi
https://github.com/jgarzik/moxiebox

I'm not sure that Ethereum or what else will be really better than Stellar, but are you sure that it will be so unique and fundamental? Wink

Well, Stellar is the EXACT SAME as that fail, scam Ripple, with "better distribution". Ethereum is a completely new thing all together.

So, anyone who doesn't have their head up their ass, would obviously choose Ethereum.

But is the question really what is the better tech, or is it what is the better investment?

Because if I had to chose to invest into either right now, I would decline and spend the BTC on hookers and blows. Way better return. Wink

Ethereum promises A LOT more than Ripple/Stellar, but it also faces more bugs/problems that may arise. Overall, I'd even choose Dogecoin over Stellar.

99.7% premine and 94% control of tradeable coins for Stellar...
or Ethereum which is distributed according to how much you invested.

Both aren't great.  Ethereum's ambitious goals means bugs and problems and possibly a long wait.  As well the huge IPO means any ROI is likely going to be little unless it goes to the moon somehow (easier said than done - didn't happen yet for Maidsafe or Mastercoin, people who invested huge amounts into that coin would had made more with Dogecoin and Darkcoin).

There ain't no Revolution like a NEMolution.  The only solution is Bitcoin's dissolution! NEM!

So where is the codious coin or the codious ipo??  Cheesy now it doesnt surprise me if one of this thing comes daily ..

On topic, stellar is doing a clearly new experiment with that facebook repartition..  there can be so many variables with that, so we can even expect a huge bubble or something unexpected as we dont know what happens if you bring digital currency to so many people.
