Dont use a Online wallet if you are  make sure you use 2 Factor. blockchain.info should be a good start for now.
Ofline wallet use the Bitcoin Core, or multibit.

Bitcoin is Legal to use in india.

 Yes you can . ask them for their public address , and send it to their public address.

Bitcoins are valid in your wallet for infinity.

Ask for some free  bitcoin and some one feels like it they will give you some.

Check the forum and search or click here

Bitcoin Core is the wallet software that is used to have your own wallet on your computer.

To sell bitcoin Go to the market section and ask to buy/sell bitcoin.

There are two kind wallet mostly used,
Online wallets Like : coinbase , blockchain.
Offline wallets Like : Bitcoin Core , Multibit, Armory, Electrum

Yes you can sell bitcoins of coinbase on any exchange to any person.
Its too damn easy , Use exchanges like localbitcoin where you can sell your btc for INR. or Simply Post in this subforum there are many here who buy and sell btc on daily basis.

There is no expiry date , it will stay in your wallet for as long as you  don't send to some other person.
