Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Indeed the next period will start in about 13 hours (Aug 5 09:13:20 AM GMT to be exact), and you just need to make a post after that to get 14 more activity points. Smiley
