No, it's not. It's not even possible without dedicated equipment so it's not going to be on a phone. Mining is out of reach for pretty much most people now.

You won't mine nothing with a few years old PC, so don't think that you will mine anything with smartphone even if mining could be possible.

Obviously people can mine less there would be no bitcoin transactions, but it's not possible to be profitable unless you spend tens of thousands on mining equipment.

Not possible at all. People, this is like using a straw, trying to drain the Pacific Ocean! Really, run the numbers... Sure, this is the beginners forum, but it still amazes me how people can even start to believe that mining with a phone could be profitable at all.

Signature campaigns and 100% POS coins. (I just participated in Premine Plus Coin and GroupCoin).

Obviously people can mine less there would be no bitcoin transactions, but it's not possible to be profitable unless you spend tens of thousands on mining equipment. Even if you spend tens of thousands USD to buy the newest ASICs, it may not be a profitable investment as the profit depends on your electricity cost, your luck (if you are solo-mining), difficulty in the future, used ASIC price (if you are selling the ASIC when it is not efficient enough), etc.

Signature campaigns and 100% POS coins. (I just participated in Premine Plus Coin and GroupCoin). Well, he could simply buy some BTC on an exchange. It's quite simple and you actually have a decent stash of money afterwards (depends on how much you are willing to put into BTC...)

What amazes me is how some people think theyre better than others simply because they know more about certain things. If everyone tried doing that, everyone would be dead from dehydration, too much salt. And plus its not just pacific ocean youd be drinking cause its connected to all other oceans and seas.

Yeah, but I don't believe you've actually run the numbers - show me the numbers, damnit. Run them! NOW! I hope you're joking about the first part of your response because the drain the ocean analogy is a pretty good one. (And obviously accurate.)

Not possible at all to mine with a smartphone unless you were planning on frying the phone. It's pretty impossible for anyone to mine now without having the right equipment.

Do you want a heater or are you so rich that you can afford a new phone every now and then? Either way,I doubt that some apps actually mine. I think they may simply steal the keys of any associated wallet on the phone that you have installed.

Yes it is possible. there are mining applications of android BUT and it is a very bug BUT There is no way in hell you will make any kind of profit from it. Even a top of the line tablet like a nexus 7 gets about 10 mhash.

Mining with an ASIC is like pissing in a sea of pee these days, imagine if you were to mine with the hashing power of a smartphone. The mining game belongs to early big ASIC cartels.
