VEGANCOIN

Alts are dying because they have no purpose. Here we have the solution to the beginning of the next stage of altcoin creation.

Ruled out is technological innovation. Nobody wants it.
Ruled out is attempting widespread adoption. People will use bitcoin. End of game. At least for now.
Ruled out is pumpable crypto. No point in making an alt that will get pumped. Give your coin an unfashionable name. Rule it out of the game.

Ruled in is "niche". Make a coin that could have use value. It may never be worth money in the traditional sense, but it will hold value in other ways. People will use it, one way or another.

VeganCoin SHA256

25,000,000 coins
Block Reward = 25 coins
Halving 200,000 blocks

Sample VeganCoin.conf

rpcuser=Yourname
rpcrpcpassword=Yourpassword
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
server=1
rpcport=22116
port=22117
addnode=104.131.234.129
addnode=188.226.162.76
addnode=178.62.150.165
addnode=54.186.136.108
addnode=54.186.136.108
addnode=54.200.193.236

I'm attaching no financial valuation to this, as it is valuable only in terms of its potential to be used by people affiliated to veganism or animal rights. So no need to get the super Asics out! :-))

This coin was, apparently, attempted before on bitcointalk. It failed to get off the ground after an unpleasant little tiff between developer and client
.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Vegan is just an old indian word for bad hunter.
Alts are dying because they have no purpose.

Partly true, but I don't see how is this different.

so what will make it get off the ground now?

nothing as such, the market is saturated.

No promises or grand ideas with this, it is intended to be niche, hopefully to be picked up by people that could use it.

I'm not expecting massive interest here, but I'll hopefully push it elsewhere, as a charitable type thing.

WANTED VEGANCOIN TIPPING BOT

This coin is about community and there is no community like the vegan community. Hot chicks, great drugs, fantastic food.

It needs tipping, on Twitter.

VeganCoin is an ideal long-term investment opportunity. Once the coin gets taken by a few services, it will be adopted like wildfire. It won't be pumped and dumped, it will be useful, and used.

I have an idea how to make a Bot but it will take me two weeks or something ridiculous while I use trial and error.

SO IN NEED A DEVELOPER - payment in VEGAN, a generous payment, and possibility for development work in the future if you want to try out a serious business plan with a goal and .. erm ... one of those strategy things for good ends (WTF?)

Great Coin, where to buy?  Cool

  you can vote for it's acceptance on C-Cex
https://c-cex.com/?id=vote

   i'm a little bit worried about the network; i've had an old gpu mining away at 'bout 88mh for the last month or so and doin OK, getting a block every couple mins. then just for fun i put the laptop cpu on it ... getting 250,000 hashes per sec and ...getting about 5 blocks a minute. curious, i put the desktop cpu on it and "hashespersec" : 1,553,373,  .... and ... ~20 blocks a minute   Huh

 i can still send coins from lappy to pc, but it takes an hour or so to show up.

  so what's goin' on? are we forked or what?

[edit] oh, nvm... i just checked w/the block explorer, seems i'm somewhere out in never-never land, that is, if the block explorer is right
                                                                                                                                                                                http://104.131.234.129/block_crawler.php

[edit#2] nvm that either. it's the link from the OP, but it ain't explorin' vegancoin

guess i might as well call it the right fork as i seem to be the only person on earth mining this?

what is the block-time for this coin?

VEGANCOIN

Alts are dying because they have no purpose.

threads like these are the reason why altcoins are dying lol

nobody will ever use this for anything else than PND..if even pnd is possible lol, vegans can buy with bitcoin or fiat = problem solved. they dont need to hold air created by a random guy. "air that has value..."
