Coinbase looks similar, although they do not seem to be making public the 2014 numbers:

These numbers are massively inflated in regards to real usages, I have created multiple online wallets just to test them out. Show us the numbers of online wallets with more than 1 BTC, and we can start talking.

Even if every person made 5 wallets would still be 30k persons just at blockchain... per month /edit Btw why 1 btc? I predict in the future prolly 99% of all unique wallets will have less then 1 btc

Downloads? I often tend to not like that expression. I mean, yeah you definitely download a wallet like MultiBit or Electrum, Armory, etc. but Blockchain.info is more of a online service. And it makes more sense to talk about 'addresses' that are being used by people. As they are the definite measure of traction (combined with increased downloads of actual wallet softwares)

I think we need a logarithmic chart here! On the downside though, I guess a lograithmic chart won't look as good as a linear one here :/ I really wonder whether those figures say anything about the traction of bitcoin.

Just go to blockchain.info and make the chart logarithmic.

I am pretty sure there are companies that deal with blockchain wallets and they probably create thousands of wallets everyday for only 1 time temporarily uses.
Interesting chart anyways.

Even if 30% of the wallets are duplicate-user downloads, you can't deny the growth. 150,000 wallets, each month, from ONE wallet provider. Sorry falllling. The writing is on the wall. Maybe not today, tomorrow or next week...but we're going up. That trend seems to be quite unbroken still. Many people claim the rate of adoption has gone down, but according to this chart it seems to be still going strong. It's good to see such positive figures in times of general uncertainty!

They've been accepting Bitcoin wallets and Bitcoin applications for months now. It could be blockchain.info's own wallet, yeah. But not in general, it's already been months since Apple changed its mind.

But not wallets in general, since there are others already on the App Store. So that graph is only showing wallets directly on Blockchain.info? If that's the case, it indeed wouldn't show the other wallets at all.

If you take a look at gbianchi user charts in the forum you will see that the number of the newly created bitcoin addresses reflect btc value, I don't know if the correspondence will continue but in these years it was.

Effectively it always has. We had the most transactions during the last bubble in 2013. Everything seemed to bloom and the media went crazy. Let's hope this snowball continues to roll!
