http://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/activeaddresses-btc-ltc-doge.html#3m

It also has the MOST transactions and unique addresses sending coins, as well as the most evenly distributed wealth OF ALL OTHER ALTCOINS.

Was there ever any doubt?  It's pretty obvious just looking at the community behind it that the coin is alive and well.

Lotsa doubt if you merely go by the grave-dancers 'round here. In fact DOGE's real user adoption stats are a good illustration of why you should "Always Do Your Own Due Diligence." Even if it includes gettin' hold of facts 'n stuff. Wink

So what are DOGE's real user adoption stats, if they are not these, which blow all other alt adoption stats out of the water:

I could make millions of "active" addresses for any coin with a simple mixer

Doesn't mean anything except the clueless meme fanboys are passing the same coins back and forth with tips

Actually it means everything. Dogecoin exists as a relatively famous and successful tool of trade independent of your opinion.

You wouldn't make millions of active addresses for just any coin because 99% of the time there is absolutely no reason to.

i think the the decision to merge mining of dogecoin with a coin who was already falling like litecoin was very wrong.. we have been heading down since then.. we need to innovate if not the price will continue to fall.

i call bullshit on that simply because it previously had been the no. 2 coin on planet earth.
it attracted NOOB Tweens from across the globe..
nobody doubted it got popular.
proving it has active addy's means fuck all really.. and what criteria is being used ? (i don't want to read links sorry)
as in at what point does the addy be considered dormant ?
The coin has only been out a short time in reality too.

merge mining was dumb in my opinion but what can you do with a coin that was designed form day one to be a clone with new icon and name ?
it's like trying to polish a turd LOL

and they need to be careful making changes too.
like changing the algo or what ever..
if guys can sit around Asic mining them like Coindesk notoriously did and they went X11 or something
this would not be fair to new users..

biggest complaint i have heard is the Maximum coins aspect.. no idea why they changed that way back, seems dumb to me.

it's doomed and all i have ever heard is community this and community that.
but we are not here to invest in communities.. we are here to invest in coins.. a tangible product.
if the only good thing you can say about a coin is it's got a good community then RED FLAG Hhahaaa
that is like saying a late night talk show has the best band LOL

lots of "this or that" on a shitty CLONE coin with a meme dog icon on it means fuck all sorry.
hell even a clone coin that takes things seriously is FAAAAR more valuable than this shitty joke coin. (such as Franko)
Franko = good and Doge a piece of fucking shit lol
And Franko has ALWAYS had a good community too so uhhhh

I can make that assumption for any coin out there.

What is your point?

(i don't want to read links sorry)

I should have stopped reading right there...

If you want to invest in coins for short term gain, then by all means go ahead.

If the only reason you are putting money into a coin is not because the coin has some inherent utility, but because you hope someone will buy it from them for more later, then it'll predictably collapse.

Tenebrix, Fairbrix, Darkcoin, Auroracoin all had great innovations, but in the end, no one uses them.  Darkcoin is still around, but there isn't enough demand apparently to keep its price.

Dogecoin has utility.  Litecoin has utility.  Bitcoin has utility.

NewANONcoinX15 is AMAZING for making a quick buck, but it won't be around for long.

Dogecoin price may continue to fall, but at some point, the demand from utility keeps it around, and that is the real value of Dogecoin.

What utility does Doge have? I mean that in terms of real utility, not utility in the sense that it can be used for a number of trivial things.

I'm talking utility in the sense that people are USING it.

Example being: http://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactions-btc-ltc-doge.html#6m

Highest number of transactions of any altcoin since 4 days after creation, and every day since then.  This doesn't even include the large amount of tipping transactions that happen off the blockchain.

People use Dogecoin.

What is REAL utility to you?

that chart shows it all, i think the price decline is because of severe inflation, this means, miners are dumping almost 100% of what they mine, and there are not enough buyers currently, thats the sad reality.

there is no reason to try to say it will skyrocket from nowhere.

It better not skyrocket from nowhere.

I would love to be a part of just one cryptocurrency where pumps and dumps do not happen.

I'm sure there are 1000's of people who would like to be a part of non-PnD's. Count me in if you ever find one, would really be nice to see & know the next day isn't going to be a huge disappointment when looking at the market. Then having to wait months or even years, hoping not to forget about the 1 out of 1000 wallets sitting on a USB/SD/Paper wallet somewhere Huh
