Hi,

I see that there are quite a few exchanges.  Some are more known than others.

Mintpal
Cryptsy
Poloniex
Bittrex
and so on...

Which is the best and why?  I'm looking for an expert opinion. As it stands now, I use more than one.  But I can't seem to understand which is better than the other.  I simply use them because of the coins they trade.

Thanks.

All the above is good but lately mintpal got hacked so I suggest avoid that...

Hard to tell which is the best one but cryptsy has the largest volume

You should deposit small amount to each and test it out yourself.

Cryptsy gets many complaints of ignored withdrawals.

Basically, every exchange is different and target different people. BitStamp is for EU and USA customers, CoinBase for USA, etc.

I recommend ANX, we support SEPA (EU) Low-fee transfers, EgoPay, HK and AUS direct banking, and have fees as low as 0.05%. We also launched the world's first Bitcoin Debit Card.

They all carry risks, to be honest. Mintpal and Poloniex both had hacking incidents. Cryptsy has a horrible interface, lacking customer service and takes forever to credit deposits (not to mention a laggy, crap trade engine). So, take your pick. Wink

I have not tried Cryptsy again since my AUR dissapeared for 7 hours of of nowhere only to find out them back again when I wake up next day. That scared the shit out of me and I decided not to participate on Cryptsy again. It's good to hear they have fixed their shit and got their shit together finally but I feel it's still to early for me to decide to move all my shit in here again. Might as well stick with Poloniex.

Bittrex seems pretty good. I haven't made much money yet, but the interface is intuitive... a lot better than Cryptostocks, for example.

Used cryptsy once and had a lot of trouble, it took a few hours to sent out the coins when I was in need of them urgently. Avoid them. You should look around the forum to check for user reviews. You shouldn't place too much BTC at an exchange, no matter how good their reputation is.

I've recently started using CoinTree, quite impressed with their low fees.

Those are rather exchanges for trading across various cryptocurrencies (altcoins) and bitcoin. Some of them are better known and trusted than others, but if you'd like to buy/sell Bitcoin for FIAT (USD, EURO), you should maybe use Coinbase, Bitstamp, Kraken,....

Yeah! We'll have to see which other exchanges may come onto the scene. I bet there are still many great ideas and startups working on it, as we speak! But as of now, there are only a few rather trustworthy exchanges!

Yeah, Circle seems to be the latest rave, doesn't it. I haven't yet looked too much into it. But from what I hear, it really is supposed to have cracked some of the shortcomings people tend to complain about. I hope they're doing a great job in the future!

No btc-e so far? They have the trollbox and works fine.

In fact the only ones I use is btc-e and an underground local exchange,  so can't really say that I have a lot of compation ground.

(Also used Craptsy in the past with not good experiences, so I don't recommend)
