I'am loosing faith, that it is possible at all..
This is my hardware and software:

VIDEO CARDS: Sapphire TriX R9 280X and XFX R9-280x-TD (did not plug them together)
OS: Win 7 Pro 64bit
VGA DRIVERS: Catalyst 13.1 + AMD APP SDK 2.9 (tried also other versions)
MINERS (tried all of them and always stuck at different problems):
> sgminer darkcoin-windows 4.0
> phm-sgminer-4-1-0-windows
> sph-sgminer-jackpotcoin
> sph-sgminer x64
> sph-sgminer-X11MOD

I used to mine LiteCoin a couple of months ago and everything worked fine so I know the principles of configuration... So the problem is somewhere in compatibility.

Please, write back whether with these video cards it is possible to mine DarkCoin on Windows and what set of software would work.

Thanks in advance!

DarkCoin is the one of the easiest coins to mine. So read some how to setup your bat file, and you will be ok.
here is my setting for my cards, and youn can try your own settings
driver 13.12
sph-sgminer
MSI Afterburner to setup your cards
and the bat file:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
sgminer.exe -k x11mod -o stratum+tcp://amsterdam.eu.stratum.dedicatedpool.com:8001 --failover-only -u -p --gpu-fan 80,80 --gpu-engine 1020,1020 --gpu-memclock 1250,1250 --thread-concurrency 8193,8193 -I 18,18 -w 128,128 -g 4
if you are using MSI afterburner delete from the line  --gpu-fan 80,80 --gpu-engine 1020,1020 --gpu-memclock 1250,1250

Thanks to both of you for support!

Finally I took Linux and everything works by the first try. I don't know what went wrong with that Windows.
I installed sgminer and SDK as in this short manual: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/how-to-mine-darkcoin-on-ubuntu-debian.7/

I am getting more than 2M out of my XFX... Nothing special, but it's OK.

I actually prefer window 7 then linux due to the control over the settings...
