Any layer 2 switch will do... If you run a large number of them in remote datacetner you may want something you can monitor. The Cisco SG300 series is pretty good for small ventures, if you a large venture and want enterprise class equipment, you can look at a Cisco Catalyst 2900-X series. Other than that, if you don't care about monitoring or support and just need "something" a D-Link switch will work just fine. You don't even need gigabit for mining, any 10/100 switch will work.

That's great thank you. It will only be for 5 antminers for the time being.

If you have 5 antminers, you need an additional port as a an "uplink" port that goes to your firewall/router, so you need more than 5 ports.  They don't make a 6 port switch per say, so you need like a 10 port switch. Plus that gives you a little room for growth Smiley

Depends what you forecast your month by month growth to be.

I use and started with a 24 port un-managed Cisco Switch for less than $100, which is a spectacular deal for a Cisco switch.

Spend the extra dollar and get a quality switch with a solid multi-year warranty.

If you pay upfront for quality, you won't kick your own ass later for being a cheap bastard.

Very high quality switch, just Google "cisco 24 port unmanaged switch best deal your country" and obviously put in YOUR own country...

Obviously they also make multiple 24 port models so don't panic if you see $5,000 switches...

Use sites like Price Bot or whatever, they find good deals fast.

You don't need anything else, I bought mine some couple months ago and is already almost full but I had forecasted a fierce growth.

If you got the buck, definitely go for a Cisco Unmanaged, anything else other than that might as well go DLink or LinkSys to save a few bucks.

My miners have their own internet connection and sub-network, so my personal data is never compromised from my mining operation.

Trust me, it's an amazing switch and there's random deal all over for them Smiley

I use this switch, and it works perfectly for my needs - plus it's dirt cheap for 8 ports.  I've been using the 10/100 and gigabit models for 6 months with no issues so far.  It's plug and play, so requires zero setup.  Just plug in your ants, connect one port to your router, and you're set.

It's just 10/100 but as others mentioned, you don't need gigabit ethernet for mining.  You could get the gigabit model if you plan on using this for a higher throughput application in the future.

Good luck!
