Simple, VRC needs a time travel to not rollback the block chain.

Agree with Flam on this one, kinda put that virtual nail in the coffin and a big hurting on Mintpal, disappointing, i always liked Mintpal, but cannot support them after this.

It needs to die.
It's the only way devs will ever learn what reversing legit transactions leads to.

And don't give me bullshit about saving the network. They did it to save Mintpal, not the coin.
If they were worried about the network, they could have simply blacklisted the address the stolen coins went into, ie release a new wallet that wouldn't acept any transaction from that address, effectively destroying the 8M coins. Maybe start an additional PoW phase to replace the lost coins.
People were suggesting this in the IRC before the rollback btw.

No.
They should have destroyed assets stolen from mintpal and let mintpal deal with its own mess.
People wouldn't lose anything, mintpal would just owe them 8M VRC it doesn't have anymore. Not the "people's" problem.

And for the record, doing nothing at all would have been a better solution than the rollback.
Not like the thieves would attack the network anyway, they'd have to be retarded to devalue something they have $2M worth of.
The only one losing anything would be mintpal.

I agree the minute that Vericoin rolled back the blockchain they were done. They should be done. It went against everything we believe in. They made a huge error.

I can't stand it when devs fork a coin and change something major, that effects the people that have that coin, and bought that coin, under the belief that certain things were true. And then POOF, the dev plays god and forks the coin, and now it is something totally different.

These things are supposed to be set in stone. When you fork a blockchain, you are creating a new coin. It's different now.

When they rolled back the blockchain they basically made a different reality. The real Vericoin had 8 million of it's coins stolen off of mintpal.

That's the real Vericoin. The "Vericoin" we have now is Vericon2. There are a lot of people like me who will never buy Vericoin because we don't want to see them get away with it. It's a horrible precedent. The only precedent that needs to be set here is that the minute devs of a coin do this they are committing suicide. It seems to be going this way so far so let's just hope it stays that way and they die a very public death.

They sold out. Plain and simple.

Here is the link to my trust settings here on forum. This trust system is very unfair. I make good on every deal Ive ever made. I had many, many deals as you can see and I never scammed anyone. All it takes is a random account to give you negative trust and youre screwed. Tomatocage has never even talked to me ever but when the random acct hit me with negative trust, Tomatocage came right behind him and marked neg trust again so obviously he was the one who did it. You can look at Tomatocage trust and see how many of his compeditors at the currency exchange thread he labeled scammers. I never scammed anyone. My trust was green over 20 before this. I hope it never happens to you because the mods cant help you.

it needs a better distribution and less phony hype. I'd suggest to start over again with a longer mining-period. And don't roll back that thing again if you start again!

Having a hardfork and forking out the thief would have been probably a better solution than rolling back in time - mintpal should have paid the bill.
