The making of a new coin

How difficult is it to set up an altcoin no alterations at all to the code? Just an altcoin with blockchain.info and wallet with it. This will be used for a study at my university and not officially released to the public. I am just wondering how difficult it is to code this thing.

Really it's not all that difficult to slap your name on a coin that uses existing technology with no changes. Like Lemfuture said, the hard part is going to be keeping such an altcoin from sinking to the single-Satoshi-figures on the exchanges. Even good branding doesn't necessarily work; just look at the way Dogecoin is sinking right now. Check out Marscoin if you want to see a coin that could do well. It's got good branding, they're beta-testing a chat feature built right into the wallet, and they just recently made upgrades for better network security. The Marscoin Foundation is even out doing events, the most recent being a presentation the Mars Society Convention just yesterday and a presentation of donations to the Mars Society and Mars One this morning.

it is easy to do that if you are a programmer and know the code. You just need to change the token and nothing else needs to change.

Creating ( Copy&Paste ) and here and there some changes is not difficult.

Coin Creator is crap you have a better chance of finding someone on here who is experience to make a coin if you don't know how program these type of projects in C++

You should check Marketplace and Services part of forum, and see if someone offers to make you one or ask for that service. Making coins is quite cheap.

I didn't get as far as pricing, but wow, it looks deceptively point and click.

Is this a sign of market saturation? Is there a choo choo train to da Moon i missed?

Coinworks.info If the team don't contact you at all then its just a clone program another coingen and CC site. I hate these sites because

A. coins never last
B. No developmental support
C. No long lasting services (unless it an arm and a leg)
D. No full services - I found more services on this forum then on any of these sites. CC wants there block explorer .50 BTC I believe  you can find a better developer for less then .10 BTC

I could go on and on about this but short story is Don't go to these sites.

Not a coingen type site, all coins are built and tested individualy. Prices are a bit higher than random people here on this site, it stems the tide of non-starters. We are just an option.

This is good info. I'm looking into my own coin. As others have stated it need to last and rise or hold it's value. This is what I'm thinking on now for it.
