The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Seek the truth for it shall set you free, truth is stranger than fiction and reality is riddled with irony. Terence Mckenna’s time wave theory is vindicated by the blockchain, it is the tipping point in human history. "He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.' - George Orwell. This will be the blockchain, it will record history going forward and in so doing it will free society from its "chains". The genesis block was the birth of collective consciousness; satoshi nakamoto is the supernatural creator ;-)

You put too much faith in men and mystics. Bitcoin will be a tool one day just like any other market.

Terence Mckenna’s time wave theory is vindicated by the blockchain LOL, how so? I think you're right about the rest though! The invention of the blockchain marks the beginning of the end of the fear-based centralized authority control system.

The invention of the blockchain marks the beginning of the end of the fear-based centralized authority control system. Timewave Theory, was developed by Terence Mckenna as a replacement for science’s notion of time as a featureless and smooth surface. The idea of Timewave Theory is that time actually has a structure, a topology; it can be described in somewhat the same way that a stock market can be described. Time is actually a series of risings and falling fluctuations of “novelty” (defined as increase over time in the universe’s interconnectedness, or organized complexity).

That video about anarchy is a really good summary. I would recommend watching it to everyone.

I'm familiar with the idea, but I don't quite see how it relates to the blockchain... The blockchain is accelerating novelty to some degree, and is in the process of destroying the long held habit of the debt-based banking system... but to the point of vindicating the theory? Seems like a bit of a stretch to me.

Even though the USA the peoples presidential vote doesn't count thanks to DIEBOLD, I can still give you a very good reason to vote. JURY NULLIFICATION Voting in most jurisdictions puts you on the selection roles for jury duty. I know you are thinking who wants to lose a days pay for that boring crap plus $10 an hour and a bag lunch, but you can truly serve your community in a very real way - by granting someone their freedom. If you disagree with a law in your case and believe it to be unconstitutional, unjustly enforced, or criminally applied you have a right to vote not guilty in spite of the evidence and what everyone else tells you. The judge will never tell you this, neither will the police, or lawyers, because if everyone knew this they could wave goodbye to their paychecks. This are people that profit from chewing up other peoples lives, why would you expect them to be honest to you? You can save your own communities from totalitarian, unjust, or illegal applications of criminal law. You can make real differences in real people's lives and free them from forever being an unjustified target of the state until they die. Whatever your opinions are they matter, and all it comes down to a choice. http://fija.org/tag/jury-nullification/
