The definition of "smart Power". What a sad joke for those dying on that mountain... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was on board an Iraqi Army helicopter, and watched as hundreds of refugees ran towards it to receive one of the few deliveries of aid to make it to the mountain. The helicopter dropped water and food from its open gun bays to them as they waited below. General Ahmed Ithwany, who led the mission, told me: “It is death valley. Up to 70 per cent of them are dead.”
Two American aid flights have also made it to the mountain, where they have dropped off more than 36,000 meals and 7,000 gallons of drinking water to help the refugees, and last night two RAF C-130 transport planes were also on the way.
However, Iraqi officials said that much of the US aid had been “useless” because it was dropped from 15,000ft without parachutes and exploded on impact.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iraq/11024037/Iraq-crisis-It-is-death-valley.-Up-to-70-per-cent-of-them-are-dead.html

What a joke. In all of this human misery there is an opportunity to find some common ground with traditional enemies and we are botching it.

Obama is busy playing golf and campaigning for Hillary (POTUS 2016), that he has no spare time left to clean up the mess that he has left in Iraq. Doesn't matter if an entire ethnic group is being wiped out from the face of earth.

it's really sad, Imagine the people rushing to get supplies after, starving for days if not weeks, and then ending up in such accident, but to be honest this is an accident, and people should be punished for their mistake so we don't see this scenario repeated

Agree when all you know is how to drop bombs on people, saving them is a challenge its the equivalent of Marie Antoinette saying "Let them eat cake" it shows how completely out of touch with reality these leaders are

This is not believable. Air Force cargomasters would not allow this.

This is not believable. Air Force cargomasters would not allow this. I truly hope the link is a lie. A simple investigation or somebody from the air force should ask the journalist to correct his claim. I shall update this post if that's the case.

More than half of the trapped Yazidis have now escaped to safe areas. But still somewhere around 20,000 are remaining in the Jebel Sinjar mountains without any supply of food, medicine or water. The good news is that the ISIS has withdrawn from some areas of the foothills, after the Iraqi Su-25 jets bombed their positions.

Meanwhile, mainstreet is still having trouble making ends meet but the neocons are on parade by getting Obama to drop some bombs and the news has already alluded to more of this coming. Even short of sending troops back in, sending in air support is enough to expand MIC profits in the meantime while the game plan w/ Russia is ramped up.
