Mining newbie. spent hours searching with no clear results, help would be greatly appreciated please. Been given 2 butterfly labs miners., one to sell the other I can keep but it it's not viable for mining coins of interest then I'll sell it too. so where to look for what to price/sell them as? I've looked on evilbay and https://cryptothrift.com and redit. what do you think of the price of £50? I guess 25GH isn't proiftable or at least I wont break even?

Solo mine. You get lucky and hit a block, you get 25 BTC. Do you think a real gold miner goes out to the hills and uses a calculator and says. If I move so many tons of dirt I should get so many ounces of gold? Do what you want because you want BTC not because a calculator says you will only get .0001 btc per day.

hmm arr. well it depends if I will hit jackpot in say 2 years min (ie before it might break) then it might well be worth it. it also depends on how much time it takes to setup. currenty I really don't want to do much more techinal stuff, I want to move on and do somthing differant. I need a break, I've done aserval of my young yearsand now want to get out more and do more pysical things

Its not profitable at all, not even break-even electricity bills. Best to sell both..

BFL gear is pretty much electronic waste at this point since it uses 2 to 3x as much electricity as it generates in revenue. Save your time and just sell it for $5 or dump it in electronic recycling.

List them in the marketplace section of the forums here if you want the $10.

Or, you can do like this guy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Butterfly-Labs-Little-Single-25-GH-s-includes-power-supply-/271571716517?pt=US_Virtual_Currency&hash=item3f3aef89a5Voila. Of course, I don't know if yours includes a power supply. But, if you start the bid out low enough, it seems people are willing to pay what we think are crazy prices for old-ass mining hardware that doesn't have a chance-in-hell to ROI. Believe me, enough of them know this, or at least have an idea. But, it's not like you're putting a gun to their heads, saying, 'Buy my miner, see?' Always keep in mind the 10% ebay fee (on the total, including shipping) & whatever PayPal charges.

Do the things you know you must do first, then worry about the stuff you're not sure about.

Solo mine may be an option for you, but it can never find a block too.

Always keep in mind the 10% ebay fee (on the total, including shipping) & whatever PayPal charges. Do not sell on eBay. The buyer will get the miner, mine on it for a month, then claim it's broken and ship back a couple of used diapers. He'll get to keep the miner and you'll be holding 2 dirty diapers. See the other thread in hardware where others are having this scam happen to them.
