I don't think so. I think short PoW coins are at fault. If people miss the launch of short PoW coins they generally not going to bother with it and the coins usually get distributed to a handful of people which is bad. On the other hand if a coin is pre announced, everybody is going to just throw rented hash at it and once it hits an exchange they are going to dump slightly above or even under the cost of their production. Longer PoW coins however are not endangered by rentals or small spectrum distribution.

Yes the PoW was a bit too short, 24h instead of 48h. We are talking about this with the team and try to find a way to give some racecoin to people who have miss the start.

Maybe a faucet or some other games.
