Hi,

I have 8 AntMiner S3's hooked up. They all hash, except for two.

The two non functioning ones ping, seem to be working in every respect (checked the processes tab, and ping tab) but they will NOT hash.
They all have a unique IP, and use the same settings at the other miners which are working correctly. I have tried different power supplies, connecting them to different pools and resetting them and redoing the setup.

Any ideas on what the issue could be? Networking issue? I have hooked up about 20+ S2/S3 miners in the last year, and these two miners seem to be an anomaly.

double check the DNS settings - If they can't resolve the pool names they will sit idle

you can try setting them to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to point to the google dns servers

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a simple faulty networking controller on the AntMiners. It seems like you did a rather controlled experiment, but as Minnesota said, you should check out the DNS settings.

I've had an AsicMiner blade that showed similar problems, and it turned out to be a faulty networking controller. Since both the AsicMiner and the AntMiner have standalone networking controllers, you should consider the possibility of a simple failure.

do you know how to ssh in?  maybe the config file is bad on them

this file is good and I added a freq for 231.25  maybe your file is twisted a bit.  or maybe you have a flaw in the controller

I am having a similar issue with one of my miners. I received 8 S3 units, but one of them is running the fans at full speed but failing to hash. I can connect to it and alter settings, but I cannot get it to start hashing. I have switched PSU's, network cables, factory reset it, reinstalled the firmware, reset it from settings I saved from another miner, and I have taken it apart to check all of the connections.

The Antminer S3 is showing a solid red light and the fans are running at full speed. What is going on with this unit?? All of the other 7 are working perfectly on their own static IP addresses.

Oh, and it is also restarting itself every three minutes. I know this because if I look at the "elapsed" time under miner status it never passes three minutes. Please help!
