MANDATORY UPDATE:

Source: https://github.com/xdecoin/xdecoin

#XDE STAKING SHOULD BE WORKING NOW!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

A LITTLE UPDATE:

While the main dev is working in the anon. feature, I'm working on the wallet. This is how it will look like:

(I still need to change a few things)

As you can see, the design will be totally changed. There will be a few new options:

- XDE NEWS: here you will be able to read everything important related to DoubleEagle Coin. This way you won't have to search for our thread here, or read every post. The news will be pulled from our server.

- EXPLORER: the block explorer will be integrated in the wallet. You will be able to search for blocks, transactions, addresses, etc.

- EXCHANGES: you will be able to see in which exchanges DoubleEagle is being traded, and the current BID/ASK of each one.

Suggestions?

[XDE] DoubleEagle - Launched Friday 15th of August.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/XDoubleEagle

What is DoubleEagle?

"The 1933 double eagle is a United States 20-dollar gold coin. Although 445,500 specimens of this Saint-Gaudens double eagle were minted in 1933 none were ever officially circulated and all but two were melted down. Supposedly, 20 found their way into the hands of collectors, but 19 of these were subsequently seized or voluntarily turned in to the Secret Service, who destroyed nine of them, making this one of the world's rarest coins. Five are still missing out of the 20.

The two intentionally spared coins are in the U.S. National Numismatic Collection, one is in the hands of a private owner who paid US$7.59 million for it in 2002 - the second-highest price paid at auction for a single U.S. coin."

We decided to use this name, because our coin will be very limited.

Who are we?

We are a team of two members (as of now), that consists of me and a friend of mine. We are looking for more people who would like to join us.

DoubleEagle: The official Bitcointalk username. He is the one who will be working on the code of the coin, adding features and solving issues.
MartinF: I'm a programmer and designer. I work a lot designing websites, and PHP is my main language (although I know C++ and C#, so I will be helping with the development of DoubleEagle too).
I will be the one in charge of answering all kind of questions and pms on the forum. I will be managing our Twitter and other social media as well.

Are there any new features?

[17/08/14] First feature - ETA: 10 days.
We have started working in a new wallet. It will have a unique design, and we will integrate the block explorer, and prices from exchanges.

[17/08/14] Second feature - ETA: 7 days
We are working to implement anonymous transactions. We want to make sure everything's working great! This will be in our next update! (1 week).

If you'd like to see something different, ask us!

Another x11, but why?

Hello!

Because it's the most gpu-friendly algorithm, it doesn't consume a lot of energy.

oHHH ...

Fast POW X11 + POS with garbage low count  .... humpy and dumpy ...

ITS MY FAV !! count me in

To tell you the truth, almost every miner will sell as soon as they can to make a profit. It doesn't matter which algorithm, or any other thing.

For example, I was mining CrystalCoin (X15), which seemed really good. But still everyone dumped and the price crashed.

Which algo do you think we should use then? Please if you don't like something, at least tell us your suggestion.

Anything, really just not x11/x13 as they are going to get heavily farmed by farms or ASICs or whatever you want to call it.

Hello!
I'm the main developer of DoubleEagle coin.

bathrobehero, we know that some people can rent rigs, but that's why we are giving everyone the chance to get some XDE by helping us with the promotion of the coin. And the first 100 blocks won't have any reward, so the diff will raise a little (this will prevent instamine from people with rigs).

Hi, it's not about rentals, x11 is not the only algo that could be rented, but it is the only one which gets a few hundred gigashashes thrown at it and dumped below the cost of production. Multiwalletcoin had 14k diff at one point and look at it's price. Same goes for most x11 coins.

X11 is far from being energy efficient and a large portion of the distribution has no interest in the coin other then dumping which pretty much acts as a handicap and so I don't see any logical reasons to pick it. But of course this is your show, and this is just my opinion.

Not your keys, not your coins!

Yeah, I think right now launching a 5 day only POW coin in an algo where asics already exist will give the coin much less odds of success or good value.  You want the widest spread of the currency as possible, current asics users will gain too far an advantage over the vast number of miners.  You don't want 10 people acquiring 50% of the coin, you want thousands of people getting smaller amounts, this will prevent any dumping and this will definitely give the coin more value.

Well, I think you are right IMJim. We really want to distribute DoubleEagle to a lot of people.

Altough I believe that most of miners dump as soon as they can, no matter what the algorithm is. But if we had to choose another algo, I would go with X15 (actually, that was our first choice. Then we changed to X11).

Well, Martin and I have been talking, and since we really want to distribute DoubleEagle to as much people as possible and X11 might prevent that, we decided to take your suggestions. The algorithm will be X15.

There is no publicly available x11 Asic yet , but there are assumptions of x11 FPGA's.
