Most shipments come with a Track&Trace code. You can check the code online to see the delivery status. If it says that the recipient has received the package there is not much to lie about. You will have proof that he received the package so there is no way you can get scammed.

There's no proof as to what was IN the package. People mail bricks and such as well and in those cases it's hard to tell who is being honest.

I'm in NO way insinuating that OP would do that; just that even escrow can become complicated.

Well I am willing to do it via escrow...you can check my feedback and see that a $100 deal is safe with me.  Recently I have had people send 5BTC+ worth of stuff upfront with no issues...me paying after it arrives.
