Hi,

I found some wallet dats which i didn't keep the folder for, this means i have no idea which coin i mined.  Is there anyway to find out which coin the wallet is for from the dat file?

Thanks

Not that I know of.

How many are we talking about?

How many wallets have you downloaded in the past? I don't think there is a particular way to find out.

Try tracking back and installing the various wallets you've installed in the past.

would you have labeled any of the address inside the wallet?

MAKE A BACKUP FIRST

When I open my wallet.dat in notepad++ around line 237-239 there is text i have entered as descriptions for addresses

the addresses are there as well, see what they start with and look here http://addie.cc/coins
