It's scaring me that Mt. Gox shows the withdrawal, but I don't see the deposit in the Bitcoin-Qt app.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

What address was it sent to?

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

When did you install the Bitcoin client? Do you see a "tick" (green OK icon) at the bottom right corner of the program?
If you don't, then you haven't finished downloading the blockchain. You must wait until it's completed 100%.

Transactions for BTC withdrawals from Mt. Gox generally get announced to the network immediately.  Because no fee is included the transaction may not get included in a block right away -- especially if it is for a trivial amount (e.g., under 1 BTC).

If you aren't seeing it in Bitcoin-qt, check in something like http://www.BlockChain.info to see if the transaction has been announced but is pending inclusion in a block yet.

It can take a day or 2.  If you have one of the newer clients, click on the client, hover your mouse icon over the circle, and it should tell you how far along you are.

Never did get my last withdrawal from Mt.Gox. I won't put anymore in there until they figure it out.

Was a "Low" priority for them. (not much money, but still, missing withdrawals is not really low priority in my book)

Edit: kept checking the blockchain for the TX, never did appear. Found a deposit from a casino that way that went to their address, rather than mine - they don't want to deal with that either)

It's about 1.5GB now to download, usually limited by your internet connection in my experience.

It took a long time for me.  I got tired of waiting and took a long nap (gone for the weekend) and it was there when I got back.  YMMV.
