It just strikes me as odd that most of the requests, which I see, to buy bitcoins, always come with some grave need for the transaction to happen 'nao!!!'

I always figured Drugs or some sort of Organized Crime operation. I picture a typical person finding Silk Road for the first time, and suddenly willing to spend anything to get his hands on it. Figure the quicker he can buy it, the quicker it comes triple vacuum sealed to his front door. And if the cops ever track the package to his house, he can always claim he doesn't know who sent it to him or way. There is no trail. It's a junkies haven.

So that and maybe some sort of Nigerian Scamming gang shifting funds around. But I'll put my chip on the junkie.

Everything is needed 'right now' which is why paypal and credit cards are so successful. People don't want to wait for payment to clear or have to wait around a few hours/days for their coins. I still think if you can buy bitcoins within 24 hours that's pretty fast considering the years I spent buying/selling LR and Pecunix and having to wait forever for wires to clear

Not only that, but some users may never have had to worry about a wire or any such thing, and have never known anything other than PayPal's "instant" transfers. They would then be expecting the same thing.

It's not "everyone" that needs Bitcoins urgently.  It's only people who registered in the last couple weeks who just broke out of Newbie status.

Instant gratification is really slow. NAO is over 9000X sooner.
