Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

They are screwing it up for all of the legitimate companies.  And NY will use
examples like this as a reason to REGULATE.

Thank you for the heads up on this. Such a shame to see this is still happening because it really does give the governments more and more to use against bitcoin and tell the public why bitcoins are so bad instead of focusing on the good that can come out of bitcoin.

I guess the only decent way at this point is localbitcoins.com.  I will at least have control over the process. And they have a rating system.

Anybody have an other suggestions?

Could you atleast provide us with some more information about what happened? ZipZap is known as a great service, so I can't imagine they would steal $200 :S.

The short of it:

1. Took for ever to confirm the CASH deposit I made in their bank - I sent in a copy of the receipt 3 separate times.
2. Once confirmed, they attempted to send my BTC to the WRONG address which I stopped. I have no idea where this address came from they wanted to send to.
3. I provided a viable address per their instructions. They confirmed. THEY STILL SENT BY BTC TO WRONG ADDRESS ANYWAY!
4. Did not respond to my support ticket for 2 more  days.
5. Finally said they would send btc "tomorrow morning", "having system difficulties".
6. Tomorrow morning came and passed. NO BTC ,NO RESPONSE TO SUPPORT TICKET, NO EXPLANATION.

This is the 5th day and about 15 emails sent to support. STILL NO BTC.

They are fuck-ups! And I am still out of $200.

If they had any sense of professionalism, they would just fill the order and sort it out on there time. They may have been
hacked - the out of place email address. But whatever the case, Zip ZAP sounds lame to me.

Well if their are multiple people having similar problems that is enough reason for me to avoid doing business with ZIPZAP.  Thanks for the warning and try and update this tread with more information on the overall outcome of your lost funds.  Hope this works out in your favor all those that lost money.

Apparently ZipZAP has a history of this type of activity -  see BBB report F Rating[/size]

http://www.bbb.org/greater-san-francisco/business-reviews/payment-processing-service/cashpaymentcom-in-san-francisco-ca-381361

According to the BBB report the company has not even responded to several complaints made just like they have treated you and the other guy that posted a similar complaint
to the ZipZap Facebook page.

Makes you wonder how many people have been burned by them and said nothing?

They portray themselves as big time but act like a small time enterprise.  If they don't clean up their act they could go the way of Mt. GOX.  This is a defining moment for them.
