OverstockCEO rocks: "Cryptocurrencies like bitcoin are going to be around for as long as the law of mathematics works."
I agreed, Patrick is an extremely intelligent guy and huge math lover.

A lot of people think bitcoin is based on software and not cryptology.. Many don't know the difference.. for now.

That does not means they will be worth 1M each, neither it will be widely used, neither the government won't fight it

Well, he's not wrong about that.

Wonder if these companies hold their coin or immediately liquidate it

Sure, I agree with him. It seems realistic that they will be as long around as there is some form of technology around.

Crypto currencies are here to stay. No doubt about that. But my question is specifically about Bitcoin. Will Bitcoin ever be replaced by another crypto-currency, in the near future?

Stellar is better than ripple but neither are truly decentralized like bitcoin and the whole debt based accounting make it really similar to fiat.

I like this guy, he always drops some excellent reason for why Bitcoin is not just some fly by night technology.  Going to have to check out a few more of his interviews on the web, he really has a refreshing way of putting things into perspective.

It seems to be very clear that he is bullish on bitcoin (and possibly other altcoins). He is a true believer. He is reportedly keeping 10% of bitcoin sales in the company coffers and is paying his employees' bonuses in bitcoin.

He is not well known in the bitcoin world as of yet but he will likely be a better known name in the future.

I love buying electronics, hopefully one day I'll be able to buy everyday stuff and pay bills with bitcoin.

dont hope. thats for those who sit on their hands and wait for others to do the hard work.
if you want to walk to your local grocery store and pay with bitcoins then YOU need to do the work in YOUR area. after all if your american, you cant wait for a argentinian, canadian, australian, asian or european person to do it for you.

... if you build it, it will come

if you want something in your town your the best person to make it happen. after all who else is closer?

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at
