So I first got bitcoin about a year ago and did some mining in Slush's pool, and directed my earnings into a MyBitcoin account, but stopped mining and basically forgot about it after a few months. In total, I mined 2.28 that ended up in my MyBitcoin account.
I understand that MyBitcoin got hacked towards the end of July and that about half of the bitcoins disappeared. I also understand that they went into receivership and began the process of returning the roughly 50% of bitcoins that were remaining.
Since I wasn't following Bitcoin at the time, I didn't file any application to have my bitcoins returned, and the website's down now, so I can't seem to find anywhere to file an application now.
While I realise that I haven't actually lost much (about $10.00 USD at current exchange rates), these bitcoins were all mined by me myself, and from what I've been experiencing mining lately, it's now much more difficult to find bitcoins, so I'll probably never mine anywhere near that much again.
Anyone aware of any process that still exists to get some of my bitcoins back?
Hi, I believe you are shit-out-of-luck. That horse rode out a long time ago
