Hello everyone, after some long nights awake thinking about this, I have finally decided to go through with my Altcoin only exchange. My mission for this is to try and get people to use altcoins for their intended purpose. An alternative to BTC. In order to accomplish this, we need to cut ourselves free from the BTC ties.

More details will be released as I get closer to the release, but for now. DIME and BC will be the main markets. We shall see. I will put a poll up so you can vote for your favorite alt. If anyone has doubts about my motives. Please feel free to ask about me in the Dimecoin thread, or on twitter. I have never scammed anyone and I am committed to keeping honesty in altcoins.

Obviously you hold a ton of Dimecoin, but if you want this to be successful you should break your ties from Dimecoin.  Use the alt coins that are most successful right now.  Take your emotions out of this.

we don't really need one more exchange. See how many exchanges collecting dust right now

only bittrex and c-cex seem to have any considerable volume right now

BC is a good choice.  Look at the alts with the most volume on Mintpal and have the most innovation.  You need coins that are widely held and people want to hold them.  Here's my shortlist.

Darkcoin
Blackcoin
XCurrency
Cloakcoin
Monero
BitsharesX

Exchanges need tight security. Considering recent hack of NXT, one can conclude that sometimes some older exchanges with good funds can't resist against hackers. Do you have enough money to spend on the security?

I might have listened to you if it wasn't for your DRK comment.  DRK easily has the highest volume of any alt so to not consider it is just monumentally stupid.  This is coming from someone that doesn't own DRK anymore. Not enough people care to trade or hold Mona, BTM or DGB so if you want the exchange to fail then use your list.  VIA is a maybe.

Starting with a popular alt is key to starting a project like this.  You can add other less popular alts later.  IMO, stick to the high volume alts to start.
