I tried to pay for a year of Pandora One and suggested bitcoins or bit-pay, but they don't accept them.  They suggested that I buy a Visa or MasterCard "gift card" at a store and load it with the amount I need and then use it like a regular debit card.

If you guys use gmail there is a mail merger sheet template. we could setup a shared spreadsheet with target site contact emails, and all gmail users need to do is draft their email and run the script to send mass email. Will post instruction....

Such requests will be massively more powerful if they come with a promise of donation, even very small.

Good point. Perhaps we should take it one step further and simply send donations in BTC whether the target officially accepts them or not. Good use case for coinapult. If I remember correctly they return unclaimed funds after 30 days. But it would be a good idea to synchronize so everyone who wants to support a given cause would do so at once,  providing a significant incentive for the receiver to claim the funds.

Perhaps we could do the same thing with online stores. If you want to buy something from them with bitcoins just send them the coins and a message explaining what item you would like and where it should be shipped etc. Of course you run the risk that they take the coins without shipping the item, but you would be in much the same position even if they officially accepted bitcoins.

So I propose that we use this thread to take collective action together to make a bigger impact, and I propose our next target should be Stefan molyneux of freedomainradio.  I pick this as the first action because it should be an easy target.  Stefan is himself already a bitcoin enthusiast and has talked about it multiple times on his show in the past. There is no reason why he hasn't added them as an option to his website yet.

Stefan used to accept bitcoin on an address that he has published. He got about 250btc, but at some point he deleted that post. The btc are still there, there have been no withdrawals. Somehow I dont think he truly gets how crucial bitcoin is, even though he is uniquely qualified to get it. The thing is, he gives people access to a private area of the forum in exchange for $ donations, but oddly enough he did not do that with bitcoin. I would love to see him finally properly accept btc, but I get the feeling he's a pretty busy time and needs something pre packaged.

Here's how the site works: you can donate as much as you like at one time, or you can sign up for a monthly subscription. The monthly subs are the most valuable to him (this is my guess btw) because they provide a somewhat more dependable source of income. This happens via paypal, and paypal will automatically charge subscribers' credit cards/accounts monthly. To the best of my knowledge (admittedly small) there is no way yet for this to happen with bitcoin.

I think he would be an absolutely awesome champion for bitcoin and Id love to get him on board, but we have to have a pre-packaged solution for him. I can post on the private area of his forum and get his attention, but what I need from you bitcoin smartcats to tell me is: what is the closest thing to a paypal subscription system in the bitcoin world?

it may take bitcoin to be more established and stabilized for long term payment plans to become popular
