Anyone ? maybe we can share the idea out and see anyone would do it.

honestly, a lot of the change in this world comes from concentrated masses of dumbasses. Silicon valley produces the stuff for the masses/dumbasses then they go around and be stupid with eachother. which is fine, most of us do stupid things oh well. but bitcoin isn't for the masses, yet. its too complicated for people who have no concept of even what video game money is.

Anyone ? maybe we can share the idea out and see anyone would do it.

honestly, a lot of the change in this world comes from concentrated masses of dumbasses. Silicon valley produces the stuff for the masses/dumbasses then they go around and be stupid with eachother. which is fine, most of us do stupid things oh well. but bitcoin isn't for the masses, yet. its too complicated for people who have no concept of even what video game money is.

thats the thing, they dont need to understand anything about it. btc is easy to use, even for the dumb masses, and thats enough imo.
if they literally link their fb account to quickcoin or even better changetip they just need to know how to type a tweet or a post to their friends with the right tags and they are already using btc.
think how many ppl use the internet but have no idea what their IP is, for example. they just know how to get online, google search and send emails and thats it. imo if they can do that much already, they can use btc - btc is even less complicated to use than email or fb or whatever.

thats the biggest blockade for mass adoption imo, the btc world tries to explain 'what and the why' with blockchains and ghash rates and milibits or satoshis and 2 factor auths and cold storage etc etc. the masses just want the simplest version of the 'how' and not a word more.
also, the btc world are just waiting for word of mouth to work and the world to come to them etc, but really it needs to be pushed to them (in the right way).

i think, the only real education needed is when ppl need to buy it. once the btc world provides a super easy way to do this, then we are 100% ready to go. so far atms are too complex or rare, the online exchanges need id and proof of address and a blood sample before you can use it, then after that its risky waters on ebay or whatever.

People say the btc price volatility is another problem, but only when more ppl use it will the price stabilize as it will be less prone to market manipulation (as it is now). so stability can only really come with mass adoption anyway, so its not a reason to hold off but rather a reason to push harder.

man, if i had 50btc to spare i bet you i could get 10,000 new people using btc in 1 month with some simple online fb marketing and competitions. i need to find a btc millionaire whos interested... or maybe start a kstr...

A fully self-funded mockumentary entitled OBAM (Operation Bitcoin Awareness Movement).

Three dudes (white, A-A, and a Hindu) and a blonde dudette travel the countryside (eventually world) try to convince diverse prospects to accept bitcoins (and/or other cryptocurrency) for their various products and services.

Along the way they hold court with prostitutes, politicians, clergy, gang members, boys and girl scouts, old folks in homes, cops to see if they would accept bribes via bitcoins, Amish, newborn fresh from the womb,... You get the picture.

Some of the content can be scripted, some not. Viewers can send in suggestions, or may have a relative/friend that they desire to convert, needing the team to help in this effort.

The more skill sets the four have, the better the show. Think Bubbles playing Rush on guitar.

I did say self-funded, thus introducing OBAM Coin. And, the four star's character's names start with one of the letters, viz. Oliver, Betty, Ahman and Mondo.

Sounds Good... Would definitely get mass interest. Through Celebrities would be the fastest way to promote bitcoins I think tho.

Start a rumor that using bitcoin makes breasts and penises grow. You won't be able to make them fast enough to match demand.
This has to be the best method ever suggested!!

when bitcoin is ready for mass adoption there will be many mass adoption efforts.. its just not there yet so settle down folks.

one idea i have is a few youtube video's of "secret millionaire" where i will go to charities that actually do some frontline important stuff in communities, and then at the end of the video, ill give them bitcoins.

other idea's is to give homeless paper wallets (ofcourse in area's where there is a ATM or merchant to use the paper based bitcoins on).

but for now its not ready for average joe

Good ideas, particularly about the charities.

Can I ask why, in your opinion, the avg joe is not ready for btc or why btc is not ready for them?
Every avg joe Ive talked to about it in a bar or party, ended up with a wallet installed on their phone by the end of the evening and i sent them a few pennies each time. They never had any trouble with any aspect of it in terms of how it could be used by them, and the general overview of how it works - i didnt go into details because most people dont really care how technology works to any great detail, but they still happily and successfully use it. How many people understand their mobile phone networks or their computers ram type or how the clothes on their back is made? but they all know how to use it.

The only reason i can see why btc is not ready for the joes is probably because of the point of entry? If someone wanted to get a few $s worth, then the atms and exchanges are really a block because of the effort of verifying accounts and finding an atm. This I'd agree with, but it can be overcome easily enough. Or maybe its because of the lack of merchants? Id say theres more appeal for merchants to adopt after a customer base adopts rather than the other way around... maybe the security aspect?

I can imagine there are a lot of ways to be able to get the word out about bitcoin to the general public and doing that is the easy part it's the getting people to understand it and how it works and how to store it that will be the hard part I feel which could turn some people away.

you my good sir are definitely on the same wave length as me. it is true average joe do not need to know the technology complicated jargon, just like they dont need to know the ISO number of the dye in bank notes or how they make the cotton weave paper..

so yes point of entry is the main obstacle, and here are some others:
1) an insured and professional webwallet not managed by a basement dweller who programmed it in php
2) the webwallet offering instant 'offchain transactions' which had been pre confirmed when users deposited it into the wallet
3) grocery and bathroom products available locally
4) paying rent, car/house insurance and maintenance

as for the merchant adoption.. it doesnt actually cost anything to set up bitcoin. merchants waiting for customers rather then just adopting it and getting some free press by offering bitcoin to then get customers, is also a flawed argument

honestly, a lot of the change in this world comes from concentrated masses of dumbasses. Silicon valley produces the stuff for the masses/dumbasses then they go around and be stupid with eachother. which is fine, most of us do stupid things oh well. but bitcoin isn't for the masses, yet. its too complicated for people who have no concept of even what video game money is.
I don't think the products created by silicon valley are created for the uneducated. Most of the technology related products are pretty expensive which means you need to have somewhat of an education in order to be able to afford them.

A little off topic here:
The educated and intellectual class are the group that is most brainwashed by the system. Their status also very much depend on the survivor of the system.

As for promoting to mass public, getting someone famous from Hollywood to do a cool sci fi movie on it will probably do.
