Probably everyone here knows that PayPal is horrible to eBay sellers, taking the buyer's side practically every time, and no amount of photographic evidence can convince them that you the seller really did ship the item purchased.
Enter Bitmit, an eBay clone that operates in Bitcoin. Does anyone know how fair the are with regards to their escrow service? How does a seller prove they shipped the item? How does a buyer prove they didn't get it? I'm a little hesitant to sell on Bitmit just because it is not nearly as established and "safe" as eBay.

I have yet to experience a dispute in a trade so I am not sure exactly what evidence they require, but I am positive they can't be worse than Ebay/Paypal  |

I don't have personal experience with them, but I have seen several people on the forum who've used bitmit, and I've not seen any complaints yet.

As volume rises, I suspect more and more disputes will be filed between buyer and seller. I suppose I will wait and see before starting to use bitmit.

As a seller, I haven't yet had any troubles with buyers. The dialogue with Bitmit has worked very well this far.

I have had no issues with PayPal, chargebacks and disputes are a part of it.
As long as you run a honest business and have shipping labels they are great.

I have had several buyers disappear without paying or responding to messages. This is the only problem I'm having, but this isn't really bitmit's fault.

Advantage of bitmit over ebay is that communication between buyer and seller is not restricted.
Many miss-understandings can happen when you disable direct comunication.
In the end, only solution for me on ebay was to left negative feedback (first negative feedback for that seller). If there were any possibility to chat with seller for a while I think the problem could have been solved.
I have not bought or sell much, but my experience with bitmit is positive.
I have been scamed once and was offered help by bitmit owner. I let it be because I knew the risks from beginning.

I discovered bitmit earlier today and have these same questions. Their built-in escrow service is quite interesting. I'm hoping to see if anybody here replies with their experiences.. |

I use escrow on bitmit and it works almost flawlessly. Sometimes you'll have someone who forgets to release the money, but in all my cases, they've turned up eventually.

Now, its not the point ebay system or bitmit system all these creative people who believe so much in bitcoins will see the importance of this btc auction /network platform as bitmit .There will be always negative points ,but to offer the software teams and the marketing teams who work on the exploitation for a good btc auction site is the best solution to offer them enough financial funds. On this i suggest to all bitcoin fans and those who believe in small trading on the new markets ( Azie,Africa,India,etc...) ,and on all the parents who believe in the educative lessons for there children on worldwide communication and internet use .To offer there support to a btc auction platform and maybe there is a possibility to buy some participation in this company ?? if there are enough people who react to them  |

I have nothing to complain so far, havent hit any disputes yet and I most certainly doing anything I can to avoid them in the future.

I have had ~20 sales go trough bitmit escrow and I have nothing bad to say so far, apart from the fact that I dont know who is actually holding the money. |

Guys who made conflict resolution system for eBay and PayPal are now starting a separate business "Modria". An online dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration system. When they speak on YouTube about their philosophy everything becomes clear. They openly say: make decisions fast, not necessarily fair. If you cannot make it both fast and fair, then sacrifice fairness. Implied message is that customers follow human nature and not reason.
