Change wording to "best" scam - "big" is incorrect English really.

NXT was and impressive IPO scam because it used a previously undefined Po$ (Proof of Scam) system

and because Crypto has fallen so far since of the stagnation and failure of Bitcoin, this means that humans are essentially "use to" or "programmed" to accept an IPO scam like that.

so its pretty smart - Ripple is smart as it played on the "what's a Crypto currency anyway" ignorance.

so both play on that, but NXT can claim they are "just like Bitcoin" to Lego people, because they do have a Blockchain.

so the list is:

NXT   ( with a golf clap and an A+ for effort)

Ripple  ( beautifully executed but can't say "we are a cryptocurrency")  (same with all the other derivatives)

How can a coin, that actually delivered what they promised be considered a scam?
The developer is not a shady man as in most coins, he is well known. The next up is a review from Kristov A. after which it should be opensource.
Maybe they've changed the block reward in the past, so what? That's just a minor issue (if it even can be called that).
I'm actually seeing this as people who are furious at missing out on earning money, this was the 2nd time that it went way over 100% in a short period (bounced back this time).

And who gets to decide what you should or shouldn't profit from? A coin developer can release his work under any terms he chooses. If you don't accept the terms, don't use the coin. Darkcoin was announced in advance of its launch. Many people mined during the first 24 hours. More coins were released than was intended, but this ensured that the price of the coins was really low for the next few weeks. You could have bought 50,000 Darkcoins for 1 BTC. And some people did. I don't see how anyone other than an envious loser could see that as a scam.

fyi: its "IPO" (which is necessary to distribute the nxt) raised 21 BTC. Anyone could invest in NXT's initial distribution as its investment phase was opened for 2 months yet only 21 btc were invested (unfortunately I didn't invest at the time because I didn't see its potential back then, as most other people which had the privilege to be around when it launched). As a comparison, Ethereum, as of posting, is at 28639 BTC (ipo still ongoing, currently 136276% more than Nxt raised). Just because you lack understanding doesn't mean something is a "scam".

Your blog post is full of false information and its conclusion entirely false, i.e. "The NXT units cost the “developers” nothing to make" -- ever heard of development and creation of value?  "The developers have in effect sent Bitcoin from 73 address they own to the IPO payment address (which they also own)" -- completely baseless claim.  Your blog is entertainment at best.

I repeat, just because you lack understanding doesn't mean something is a scam.

P.S. I did not claim that Ethereum is a scam by any means, all I did was to compare the amount of btc initially invested.

Hmmm, original post was sort of ambiguous to what the poll is actually asking. I only have experience with several of these coins, so I just picked the one I find most worthy of the scam title.

Stellar:

• Centralized Distribution/Generation
• Community is filled with people who don't know anything about digital currency's, so the likely hood of them being scammed by someone else is really high.

• Consistent lies and changes rolled out by the Foundation
• The Shit Show of the first several days after launch in regards to the amount of spam facebook accounts cashing in.

• Likely hood that the value of STR can rise in the long run is basically 0%
• The relaxed security on Stellar.org, but huge controls of the foundation

Like, I got banned from their forums because I posted how Stellar is at a huge disadvantage when they are highly centralized when it comes to their initial distribution and generation of STR, especially with the distribution rule changes. The trust of the foundation is permanently hindered by making promises and changing them with little notice.  Got perma-banned an hour after posting my argument in two separate threads. It's as if my mother and her friends decided to make a "cryptocurrency", I have no fucking clue how they got funding for their project.

Then I give it up to AsiaCoin because that was the first "hidden premine" coin. They really paved the way for a whole new breed of lowlife fucks.

Ethereum may very well be the most profitable scam. But I will give them a couple more months before sealing their fate.
