So, I'm looking for a good, affordable web hoster which takes Bitcoin to host my site. I've seen hosting sites pop up and then suddenly disappear every once in a while, so I'd like to know which sites are the most reputable, before I'll throw any money in. Smiley

EDIT :
I have already found a web host.

EDIT 2 :
Actually, no. The host I chose is going down in about a month.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Poor customer support, apparently

Looked at Microtronix Hosting, most of their pages are 404'ing at the moment.

Looked at Microtronix Hosting, most of their pages are 404'ing at the moment.

That's a rare fluke: They're in the middle of a move, and something knocked out one of their DNS servers for a day.  20% of their accounts were affected, and they've already apologized humbly and offered their users 10% off their bill to make amends.

I use their service and cannot recommend them enough.  Full-featured accounts at good rates, cron included, responsive and attentive tech and customer support.  I've already had them go beyond the call of duty for me more than once.

Check out their separate bitcoind accounts if you just need a bitcoin daemon running on a site you already have, to add BitCoin functionality.

Oh, and you can have your site at MicroT running cron every minute if you'd like, so that end-users encounter minimal wait-time as the sent bitcoins wait for however many network confirmations you've stipulated are required to complete the transaction.

Alright, I already chose a web host a few days ago (Web Host Layer).

Everything has worked nicely for now, even though I had a small problem when settings things up (turns out an important e-mail post had been marked as spam by Google.)

That happens a lot when mails contain logins to control panels, FTP servers, etc. Wink Don't blame them Smiley

They handled it nicely though. Turns out the link to cPanel through the Client Area on their site didn't work, so I should've used the link in the post that had been marked as spam. They fixed it and gave me a free month of hosting. Smiley

I've been only using them for a few days, but so far it has been very smooth.

I'd much rather support any Bitcoin merchants than pump money into legacy systems, but thanks for stopping by the Bitcoin forums to advertise a non-bitcoin service!

Excuse me? We take any currency, and accept Bitcoin as another form of payment. Thrashing people for using other currencies and not just Bitcoin isn't and won't help the Bitcoin reputation.

I apologize, the difference between "not just", and "just not" is pretty big, and I must have misread.

If you come here to advertise your service that doesn't accept bitcoins, you earn an insult in my book.
I'm it was only a mistake on my part.

Consider this thread reopened.

WebHostLayer, the web host my site is currently hosted on, is going down May 14th, which means that almost six months of web hosting payments I've done in bitcoins just went down the drain without a chance for refunds.

So you need just a hosting service, or do you feel like being the admin of your own VPS?
