The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Registering at Gold Game Land pays you 0.10 BTC at once without much effort.
From the site:
Please fill up the following form for us to review your registration request. The free BTC will be added to your account balance immediately and needs to be played through any of our games. Any possible winnings can be cashed out once your registration has been approved and any deposits cleared. Each player may only have one account.
The requirement for playthrough is not enforced currently. It will be soon enough, as abusers are eager to exploit the giveaway by more than one account against our rules. However, it is quite usual for valid players to end up with some cashable winnings as the result of gambling the free 0.10.
Can you make the games verifiable?

Can you make the games verifiable?
Maybe in the future we can.

My friend is a little skeptical... he thought the playthrough was enforced, so he went to the low/high card game and waited for a 13 card and bet lower. He lost... it was another 13. He then did this again, and lost *again*. Obviously the odds of this are 1/169 and he's not eager to play on your site again. I, however, cashed out the 0.1 and then some with a "higher" on a 7
You forgot to mention that "your friend" won one lower than 13 bet before losing his two bets in a row. The odds of 2 losses out of 3 come down to 1/61, which in my view are not terribly long odds (neither is 1/169 looking at the millions of bets on our site since 2005). In fact it happens several times a day even with our current low volume.

We are not naive enough to think robbing players of their free bonus would stand any potential benefit to us. Naturally, when an incident in the order of 1/100 happens rightaway to a new player, one is inclined to blame a factor outside bona fide circumstances. There's not really much to be done about that.

However robbing every Nth player, or each player on their third turn when the site's wallet is low, would provide a profit.

Besides verifiable games, such as Bitcoin Minefield or SatoshiDice (the most popular BTC gambling game!)

I spoke with Justin Filtz - someone in the poker community.  About bitcoin and poker, biggest complaint was the lack of other players on the various bitcoin poker sites.  Also gave him an empty Casascius coin
