I think that decryption of these wallets can't get much faster, because the point of taking so long to decrypt is to make brute-forcing less useful.

Yes BIP38 uses a Scrypt algorithm to prevent wallet brute force. It takes time depending on your device to make a guess

I recommend breadwallet on ios and myceillium on android.
Then select wipe private key and enter your guess

If you are on computer you can use any webwallet that opens bip38 encrypted private keys.
