...at the end of 2016...

I read that article, but the end of 2016 is way too distant future, as far as Bitcoin and other cryptos are concerned.

We don't know how things will turn up by then.

But they will continue to accept Russian Ruble, European Euro, Chinese Yuan and Swiss Franc. What does it tell you?

Exactly. They will stop accepting USD does not mean they'll start accepting cryptos.

Nothing to see here, move on.

Fuck all except the MD of Amagi being an attention seeking ranter and raver.

All those currencies are backed by the USD, so what the fuck does he think he is protecting himself from?

Bitfinex victims. DO NOT TOUCH THE BFX TOKEN! Start moving it around, or trading it, and you will be construed as having accepted it as an alternative means of payment to your USD, BTC, etc.

Did either of you two actually bother to read the damn statement?

Quote from: Amagi Metals
Thus, Amagi has planned that by the end of 2016, the company will no longer accept US dollars or other “fiat” currencies. Instead, Amagi plans to be trading exclusively in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

FYI nothing is backed by USD. Some of those don't even accept USD as means of payment... update plx...

Sadly many people don't bother to read anything anymore... everything has become TL;DR but they always have a strong opinion about it ready of course...

So true didn't read the full statement my bad... but... wanted to make a point that USD is no longer preferred mean of payment anywhere not only at Amagi.

Which country is Amiga Metals registered in?

It is illegal for any US company to refuse fiat payment.

Any debt that was offered to be paid in with USD and refused is considered paid.  Probably the confusion.. however I'd expect laws to force people to accept the USD very very very soon.

US dollar sometimes seem to be over-rated, even when it is weaker to euro. Good step they took Smiley

Seriously, not only does it say in the article they will be accepting crypto currency, it also says they won't be accepting any governments "federally insured legal tender". Where these guys get the idea that rubles and yuan and all the other shitty fiat doesn't count, I have no idea..

Not to mention the fact that they have been accepting bitcoin for nearly 2 years now.
