Rick is obviously in the right here but it really burns me that this serves as a boost to his credentials on the heels of him likely running for President. If people thought the US military was bulls on parade back during the Bush years, you're gonna be in for something special if this guy is elected. Which is why we all need to get behind Rand Paul.

Democrats will make sure to turn Perry into Bush 2.0 because he is from Texas (stupid cowboys, stupid farmers, illiterates, worse of the worse, not like us intellectuals) I am not even sure Rand wants to be president.

Whether he wants to or not, he's sure indicating he's doing everything he can to build a team and donor base to do so. Not to mention the reaching out to minorities shows that he really wants to be the leader of growing the GOP so all signs point to his initiative in the matter. I'm chronicling all of this in my thread about him. I totally agree that the dems will portray Perry as another Bush but let's face it, most Americans are fiending for something different right now.

The Washington crowd pretty much did this with LBJ, and then with Clinton.... Suddenly the Lil'Abner comic strip became VERBOTEN. LOL, I always thought the cliche Arkansas redneck was way lower on the totem pole than Texas. Rand is serious about POTUS. He's been working for at least three years in that direction.

Well looking back Bush really does not look all that bad right now. He started two wars in eight years, however a few short years after he left office, several democracies started popping up near where these wars took place and near where we installed new democracies. His economic policies also were good enough to have solid economic growth for most of his presidency. I do agree though that Perry is very much in the right to do what he did and is very much innocent. What is being done to him is as abuse of power and political.

I'm not sure Perry said this about Bitcoin but his likely replacement said that on the campaign trail and also accepts Bitcoin for his campaign.

I'm not sure Perry said this about Bitcoin but his likely replacement said that on the campaign trail and also accepts Bitcoin for his campaign. I think it would actually be a bad idea for a lot of candidates to be accepting bitcoin for campaign donations. Since it is very difficult to know for sure who donated, someone could easily run 200 BTC though bitmixer, have it send the mixed coins to 100 addresses, then they could make it look like his 200 BTC donation came from 100 different people, and this person would have undue influence on the candidate.

You mean it might be like the $90M of undocumented overseas contributions to Obama's first campaign, that were never investigated? You mean it might mean that the IRS would not know who the donators to the Tea Party were, so they could not audit 10% of them?

What the hell I have just watched? It's quite strange. It started out as a "smear the politician on the other side" thread, this morphed into "our guy is the good guy", and that in turn morphed into "He advocates bitcoin." It's strange because (as I think should be the case) advocacy of free bitcoin trading should trump political left or right party affiliation. At least to some strong degree.

What the hell I have just watched? Keep up with the news from Texas and you'll know exactly. If you do not live in the US then this does not matter to you.

I did use that cool morphing app to create my Animated DA Troll from Hell, so it is logical to have this thread to morph from one topic to another.

That's the guy saying Islamic terrorists will invade the US coming from Mexico, right? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/23/mexico-rick-perry-islamic_n_5703361.htmlThis is assuredly the biggest BS I've heard this month. The guy may be BTC friendly, and that's cool, but the world has yet to see a Mexican jihadist, and he should know that. People should remember 9/11 attackers came as tourists with valid visas. They didn't cross the border illegally.

It's common knowledge. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/05/26/terror-alert-mexican-border/http://cnsnews.com/news/article/napolitano-terrorists-enter-us-mexico-time-timehttp://mrconservative.com/2013/06/18667-muslim-terrorists-caught-crossing-us-border/If the Obama administration warns Perry about terrorists crossing the Texas border into the US, and then Perry repeats this concern, can the liberal left then use Perry's comments as evidence of buffoonery? I guess so, since their new target is "low information voters." LOL....

I'm certainly no part of the liberal left (even though this would have to clearly defined), but I didn't know the Feds had warned Texas about this. I'll add I'm pretty surprised with that. I've had the opportunity to meet and to talk with people who had crossed borders illegally, and they were... Peasants. Really poor folks. Exactly the opposite of the man I've seen (yeah, I watched the whole video) beheading American journalist James Foley. That guy was soft-spoken, he spoke good English, and talked like an educated man, even though he had crazy ideas. I'm sure this man has a passport, and that he travels by plane. Then the world has seen that IS is very well-funded. So some people scare others with poor immigrants, but the real terrorists are elsewhere. Remember Bin Laden was from one of Saudi Arabia's richest families.
