I really like the idea behind the service, enabling merchants to accept Bitcoin payments easily. However, it turns out that it's not all that easy. The documentation is nonexistent and support responses are slow. I understand why. It's free and you usually get what you pay for. With that in mind, I'd like to buy the website and code from the owner. My intention is to keep all the features as they are and also improve upon them, hire a dedicated support team, etc. To pay for this I would eventually start charging a tiny transaction fee for merchants while keeping the rest of the ewallet stuff free. I'd love to negotiate a deal. Please get in touch with me at sales@bitcoin2cash.com if you're interested. Thanks!

Why not start a competing alternative? I most likely will if my deal isn't accepted and no response is made about plans for improvements. It'd be awesome to start with an established name while improving everyone's current service though.

It's not very difficult to create an alternative, as kiba said, and I actually began some code on one awhile ago, before giving it up.

The likelyhood that the mybitcoin guys will respond here are slim. Email them.

That's what prompted this thread. There's no email address listed on their website and I'm still waiting for a response for a support question.

I asked them for paid support to help me debug one e-shop payment module postback and that was almost 2 weeks ago and i got no answer. The service being free we can't expect free support but i was willing to pay... Well, until i fix that problem(or someone else opens a bitcoin e-shop) there won't be any gadgets to sell for bitcoins.

I feel your pain. I'm a Zend PHP 5 Certified Engineer and if I'm having these kinds of difficulties, I can only imagine what the typical shop owner is going through. Even if I get their system to work, I'm worried about how reliable it will be when I start trying to turn my customers loose on it. If the owners read this, it's cool if you are busy and don't have time for this anymore but please pass the torch on to someone else that does and make a buck or two while you're at it!

It's not so difficult to setup. The documentation is just lacking. I wrote this in the past (still need to update it though (did some just ago)). https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/MyBitcoin_SCII even wrote a Python client for it.

I wanted a simpler way to accept bitcoins, and I eventually came up with this: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Lazy_APIIt's not uber-secure, but it is really, really easy.

This is actually a really neat idea. Of course, if BlockExplorer.com goes down, you will have issues. But then I guess MyBitcoin would have the same. I prefer to do my own manual checking with bitcoind running on the server w/ JSON-RPC.

Thanks for that, maybe some other people will find it useful but I've given up trying to get it to work. Even if I could get it to work, I'm not confident enough with the service to use it with my customers. I'm worried that it will only create more trouble than it's worth. Is anyone using this on a daily basis? Can you show me your e-store? I'm just curious as to how many people are actually using it.

I use it for Operation Fabulous. I haven't encountered any problems to date. Only some complaints that users have to do a captcha. I plan to integrate the MtGox merchants tools as well at some point.

btw, how long are you willing to wait for MyBitcoin before you start coding your own service? I might be able to help a bit with that.

A couple of days, a week at the most. I'll model the payment system based on PayPal to make it easier for new merchants that already have experience with PayPal's system. I'd love for support as far as writing documentation goes or designing graphics if you have any experience with that.

You mentioned being interested in a tech support team? I would be interested. I believe I met you at the UAH presentation of bitcoins by Plato.

I know re-enabling the payment processing stuff is on MagicalTux's To Do list. So mtgox will do all these things shortly.

Well, mybitcoin.com needs some rework done for sure. When trying to debug my payment module i was sending some 0.05 BTC payments from my bitcoin client in my PC to my mybitcoin.com account, paying fee(yeah, stupid, i know) but the payments take so long to be confirmed that it doesn't ever sends the postback from mybitcoin.com to my shop, it only times out.
Impossible for people to shop like this, or even for me to test it.
