Ja.

BitcoinNordic is in collaboration with DK's largest torrent tracker.
It is certainly not smart in this time when Norden is so much up in the torrenting is illegal.

- I certainly can well see the fancy of it ..
- As I'm using this site my self

But, look at it this way.

We have enough problems with that DK is against sweets road, and BTC generalt with it being used for illegal activities?

and now BitcoinNordic in cooperation with the tracker, it comes as to and provide the world's best impression of the Danish State
- You see my point?

If I wanted to, how would I avoid that people buy bitcoins from Bitcoin Nordic and send them to the tracker? It's in the nature of Bitcoin that I can't decide where my customers spend their coins. Just like a bank can't avoid their customers withdrawing cash and spending them on something that might or might not be illegal.

How am I cooperating with the tracker any more than I am cooperating with, say, BitcoinStore.com, where my customers can also spend their bitcoins?

I know, the problem is the "In cooperation with"
How am I cooperating with the tracker any more than I am cooperating with, say, BitcoinStore.com, where my customers can also spend their bitcoins?

If a bank has an ATM on a street corner, then they provide withdrawal of money. The customer can then go on to use that money on whatever the customer wants. Ice cream for his children, or buying narcotics in a dark alley. The bank's responsibility ends when they have given the customer the money.

Now, if the bank wrote on their homepage, or had stickers on their ATM saying that they're facilitating payments to a street vendor of narcotics. For example it said on the ATM: "Two block down towards the park, the blue house, you get all the dope you need!"

Then customers would take offence, it would be in the papers, it would be on the news, the bank would have to say they're sorry, and remove the stickers and the advertisement on their webpage.

If a bank has a branch in a challenged neighborhood, they KNOW that a lot of the money that are deposited and that are withdrawn often are involved in criminal trade. Does that mean that the bank should shut down their branch ? Remove their ATM's ? No! But they're wise about it, they simple provide a service to people. Of course if someone comes into the bank with a large stash, and act all dopey and tell them: "Yo, I'm gonna stash this lot in ma account yo, my dealahs have done good on the street yo!". Then the branch would probably call security and police and have him escorted out.

So it's all about playing it smart. If you know that your technology or service can be used for something nefarious, do not go around advertising it, or make service agreements or official partnerships with providers of questionable goods.

Fimp, I've heard you're a standup guy, but perhaps you're a little bit naive. I don't know the details of all this, but if you announce you're working with a tracker, then you're putting A BIG TARGET on your forehead. And later, when you do presentations, or get interviews by a news paper, they will always ask about how you support piracy and so on. Just don't have any official ties to any of this, and shut down any customers that openly tell you that they're going to use bitcoins for illegal purposes.

Don't be blinded by your own desire to make a profit. It can come back to bite you seriously. Be smart, be safe.

Bitcoin Nordic is not giving any directions or references to the tracker.

The case is this:

The tracker has inserted a form on their own website which is essentially a copy of our bank transfer form here: https://bitcoinnordic.com/bank-transfer/

Their form submits data to our URL so we receive their form submissions essentially as if from our own website.

What I did was that I asked them to put in a link to Bitcoin Nordic next to the form on their website to get a little advertisement. They did and also wrote "In cooperation with Bitcoin Nordic".

Technically, I see nothing wrong here. But sometimes dealing with authorities, just being technically correct isn't always enough. If this can give people the impression that we somehow endorse or encourage the use of the torrent tracker - and it seems it can since that's the impression Greedi is under - then I should consider asking them to remove the expression "in cooperation with" and perhaps even ask them to remove their own custom form. (Even if I can't make them - creating that custom form submitting to our URL currently requires no cooperation or authorization from us.)
