hi.

when i generate a deposit address to send BTC into my MtGOX account,

are these addresses forever permanent ?

so that i can publish such an address as a donation address on a website?

That's true; but I believe that the old one will continue to work (at least for a while anyway).

I believe they are temp addresses. But they might remain alive for a while though.

Not worth the risk IMHO.

I recall reading somewhere awhile back that they were permanent, but they recommended you use a new address each time due to security reasons - if the wallet holding it were ever compromised, etc...

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

That was changed to be that way a while ago in response to pool miners asking to mine directly to their account at the exchange.

I have been depositing into the same mtgox address for over 6 months. They change the one they give you, but all the ones they ever give you all lead to you and you alone.
