It sadly seems as if these have become the latest ponzi schemes to try take peoples bitcoins. People just really need to be more careful with who they give their bitcoins to.

They don't even need to steal anything to make money.

Just sell the hash rate at mark up and pay back using the hash rate follow the pool. Since mining has negative ROI, they can make money without even having a farm.
