How many exchanges should a coin be on?
I've seen many coins get taken off exchanges, cause they have low trading volumes. If the coins had stayed on one or two exchanges, maybe there volume would be better. I just wanted to see everyone's opinion, on this subject.

Depends on demand. If coin is new one or two exchanges in enough. But if coin is well known (ltc, doge, drk ...) and everybody is trading with it then it should be on all exchanges or people will start using other exchange.

More exchanges are good for competition and redundancy.

Fee will be lower on competition and if one exchange goes down, there will be other to take over.

As many as possible in case it gets delisted from one exchange..

Especially for IPO based coins, it is best not to dilute the name through going on multiple exchanges. Two major exchanges is ideal because you are targeting two major groups of people. Three may be acceptable, but certainly over three is too much because you are niching too many people. All in all, it is definitely situational.

I think that 3 from the biggest exchanges is the most optimum.

If the coin is very new it should be on 2-3 exchanges later when it gets popular like darkcoin more than 7 exchanges.

I agree with Dexter44 ^^^....the more exchanges offering the CCY, the more it will be noticed, the more it is being noticed, the better it is for the currency and the volume....like a domino effect.

It all depends on the popularity of the coin, why bother listing a coin on multiple exchanges if it can't get a decent volume on 1 or 2 exchanges. In my opinion 3 to 4 major exchanges would be enough to a very popular coin.

An extremely popular coin could probably get away with being listed on only two exchanges.

If the coin have a really low trading volume: 1
if it's around 5-6 BTC/day : 3
higher than 10 btc/day : as much as you want

as long as there's volume, the number of exchanges it's on doesn't matter.
