The Squamish Chief Rock ClimbingWhen I lived out west, I spent countless weekends up in Squamish, B.C. rock climbing many different routes all over The Chief, the Apron being one of my favorite places to (quite literally) hang out. We never took any videos of us climbing, but this video is of one of the most popular routes that I climbed. The summit being 650m if I remember correctly.
GoPro - Climbing the Chief -Squamish BC - Diedre ButtfaceIn this video you can hear the climber say, "nope, I'm not putting my knee on it" at 5:22 in the video. This is a general rule in climbing. If you can get your knee on it, you can get you foot on it. Your foot always being preferable.
That must be fun!!!
Although I prefer to desdend really fast:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMCE0ZSw9-QI cannot express enough how exhilarating it really is, the feeling of accomplishment and sense of freedom, along with a profound connection you feel with the earth when rock climbing is truly amazing! I highly recommend everyone try it at least once in their life. I must admit that I'm terribly out of shape now and haven't climbed in years. (I gave all my gear to my old climbing partner when I left B.C.) Although I've never tried it, my physique is more suitable for zip lining these days.
I've never climbed. Only walls but It's on my bucket list.
But zip lining... man!!! it's wonderful!!
Specially in the end when you think you are going too fast (about 130km/h) and you see a small hole coming fast at you!!
And you have to fit in there!!
The good news: yes, you do fit, obviously!!
